About the Author
ABOUT THE AUTHOR Several years of expatriate management postings to African railway companies have given Mark a unique insight into local cultures and business operating methods in remote countries throughout the Dark Continent of Africa. The Guy Lucan series of thriller novels are based on real existing railway networks in sub-Saharan Africa and are a combination of a crime ‘who dunnit’ and travelogue in each country. Mark has drawn extensively from his experience living and working in post-colonial Francophone and English-speaking Africa to describe accurately the people and sights of modern day Central Africa. His first novel ‘Blood Wood’ is set in Madagascar and deals with the illegal logging of hard timber forests in the north of the island which has become an international environmental crime. This book introduces Guy Lucan who then continues to be a central character in the subsequent books in the series. Each book is aimed at railway enthusiasts, readers interested in exotic travel, and who enjoy a fast- moving thriller story filled with intrigue, danger, love and ironic humour. Mark continues to work in the railway industry in Central Africa and lives with his family in Africa. .. .. .. ..
