This slim volume is unusual in using small print. In other words, you are getting more information than you would expect from its total page count. James Simpson exposes the role of voluntary agencies in aiding and abetting the "open borders" movement--which has become more active with the Presidency of Chief Officeholder Obama.
Restricting government agencies from enforcing US immigration law, creating new categories of "protected" immigrants, and attacking those who oppose these unwise policies have created harmful situations in the US, which are finally receiving attention from the media. For example, there is the 32-year-old San Francisco woman killed in a public park in broad daylight by an illegal immigrant deported from the US five times, who city authorities knew about and allowed to reside illegally there because San Francisco is a "sanctuary city"--another ploy of those who want open immigration. Simpson also mentions the now widely publicized demands of 14 Senators that 65,000 Syrians--who will not be screened to eliminate terrorists, crooks, etc.--be admitted to the US. Large groups of such immigrants--who bypass the legal procedures regular immigrants must go through--have already been admitted through the collusion of some surprising voluntary agencies.
It is a wakeup call to Catholics to find out that the USCCB/Catholic Charities is the largest voluntary agency, and receives 59% of its funding from the federal government. This unholy alliance has predictable results: these agencies work as social agents of the federal government and look the other way when Catholic teaching is violated by the programs these agencies are running or helping to facilitate.
This information explains prominent Catholic cardinals' and bishops' repeated calls for immigration "reform," which threatens the safety of US citizens, burdens the taxpayers as many of these immigrants go on welfare, and will eventually alter the voting base of the US as efforts are made to extend the vote to these interlopers. It is equally sobering to read that the Catholic Campaign for Human Development was created in the 1960s to help finance radical agitator Saul Alinsky's Industrial Areas Foundation; Obama himself says this when he describes his early days as a community organizer in Chicago.
