Thank you Mr.Dreese for the journey, I sure hope you keep em' coming.
Concentrated on the story and how it unfolded. I had a feeling something would go wrong and of course it did but not like I expected it o happen. Now I am hooked and I have to read the next book and any others that follow.
The story took hold of me when they finally began the actual jaunt to Mars from the Space Station. Quite a few surprises along the way and once they arrived. I don't want to tell the whole story here. That is for you folks who read this to find out for yourself and enjoy the ride... It is a bumpy one.. You will be hooked as well.
This is not the book for the science nerd, wanting a lot of technical jargon (although even geeks would enjoy the story) but it is for someone who likes to dream about the possibility of life beyond our planet, and most importantly someone who really enjoys a great story told well, and with interesting and varied characters.
The various characters in the story seemed very real, and very fleshed out for a relatively short novel(less than 300 pages), and they surprised me at certain points with their realism in handling certain situations. These are Heroes in their own right, but with normal human failings, and I appreciated the hones approach the author took in writing these characters.
I finished this book in less than 2 days, and if life had not got in the way, I would not have put the book down until it was completed. The book never lagged, it always held my attention.
I eagerly am looking forward to starting Blue Hope tonight! John Dreese, is an author I will be eagerly watching for future releases!
The information of what was happening on Mars, and , later, back at the space station and on Earth, was both gripping, sad, and funny, all together.
I have signed up for book two-hope it's as good...If Adam makes it home that will be a bonus-he's a real survivor..for perfectly good reasons.
Have just finished -and happily sung the virtues of book 2. Loved it/them!
