About the Author

Ben Slotky will be the author of such popular children’s books as The Chocolate Robot Man and 3–2–1 Christmas. He is the creator of the irrationally popular television shows Jesus Bears and Rock and Roll Pillow Fight. He has published several stories previously, none of which were very good. Red Hot Dogs, White Gravy is his first collection and is pretty good. Slotky lives in Bloomington, IL and is currently at work on An Evening Of Romantic Lovemaking, which is either a science fiction story or something about having sex with people.

This collection of story stories ranges from angry rants to touching recollections - and even those are laced with more expletives than you'd expect. Certainly worth the price of a used copy, though I paid full retail and don't regret it.

Ben Slotky is one of the toughest writers around. Arms as big as a soup cans. One time he punched a horse to the ground.

This guy can write. He is one hellava writer. I mean writing comes natural to him. He has this book to prove it. He writes all of the time. I do not write much that is why I like to read his writing. Buy this book and give it out to everyone you see. It is worth it and you deserve the joy it will bring to you and your fellow man. Write on writer..Right On.

Often very funny, this book reveals, story by story, the authors' nature in a strange way. What begins as a series of stories about stories about this book about this author, ends up as a complete whole, providing a portrait of an individual like all of us, with our insecurities, dark thoughts, struggles. Can often be a difficult read, often you are frustrated by the author, but at all times charmed and entertained by his wit, observations, and silliness.
