In Artifacts, Inc., 2-4 players compete to grow the most famous archeology company. Players roll dice, which represent their troop of adventurers and place them on cards in order to find artifacts, sell them to museums and purchase new cards representing their company assets. Players can choose to focus on making lots of money by selling artifacts, having museum majorities, creating the best combination of expeditions and buildings, or searching below the waves for lost cities and hidden treasures. The first player to reach 20 reputation triggers the end of the game and the player with the most total reputation wins.

Box is fairly small so we find it a good game to take with us places that doesn't break your back.
One aspect that I wish was different was the scoring. When you add a card to your collection you score points immediately. So you're accruing lots of points along the way but then once someone reaches a certain number the end is triggered and you have one last round. The only points scored at the end are museum points, which you can tell where you stand. So at a certain point, usually about 2/3rds the way through you kind of know who's in there lead and it makes the last portion of the game a bit dull if you're behind. Just something to be aware of. Sometimes it can be neck and neck but usually it hasn't for us.
Overall though is a great game. Pieces and cards are made well and it arrived on time. I bought as a cheaper stocking stuffer type gift and for what I paid I am pleased. In our large collection of games we don't play it a ton but we do bring it out on those easy less intense nights when we want a quicker game.
