Baking Bliss With Any Yeast
I recently purchased for the first time Red Star Platinum Yeast, and I've achieved great results with it. I've baked small loaves of bread, intricate baguettes, and fougasse with Caraway seeds; this Yeast performed nicely every time. The quick rise times and reliable performance make this Yeast an ideal choice for novice and experienced bakers alike. It lends a beautiful depth of flavor to my loaves and has made my baguettes and fougasse taste as a professional baker crafted them. Delectable! Some say Red Star Platinum Yeast is worth the additional cost compared to Regular Yeast. It has a longer shelf life and does not require proofing, which can save time and effort in the baking process, and it also produces a consistent and fast-rising dough. But why is Red Star Platinum Yeast performing better when proofing, although it is an instant yeast? Red Star Platinum Yeast contains dough enhancers and ascorbic acid, which promote better yeast activity and gluten development. This combination allows the yeast to produce more carbon dioxide gas during proofing, resulting in a higher rise and a more open crumb in the final baked product. Regardless, proofing Red Star Platinum Yeast is bakers' best secret. My Publix stopped carrying this yeast. I won't use any other so now I buy it on Amazon. It makes the best textured dough and rises beautifully. If you keep this in the freezer it will last for a long time. I actually found a three pack in my chest freezer that was one year past the expiration date. No problem. Worked just fine.

The product is Excellent. It is recommended by Sally's Baking Addiction, which is an excellent source of recipes, which is how I became aware of it and use it the product weekly to make all my yeast products whether it be pizza dough, cinnamon sweet rolls, or bread. The seller and Amazon also sent fresh product with 14 months of life left which is very good given the manufacturer says its life is 24 months max.

It is expensive when you but any yeast in packets. But as you know instant dry yeast in made to add to your dry ingredients but if you want it to save money you have to buy it in 1lbs bag. Active dry yeast doesn’t rise as high and it takes longer to rise. Instant rises double in size to active yeas it is just some recipes for active dry yeast so I keep some around.

I liked everything about the yeast except when you order you have no idea on the expiry date.
I have 6 packages , that's the least amount you can order..
The yeast expires in August 2024..
I don't think I'll be able to use all of it before then.
The first batch I ordered the yeast expired sometime in 2025.
