I wanted to review this helmet, so others in the SCA would know how good it was for YAC (Youth Armorer Combat)
I bought this helmet for my 8 year old son to use for SCA youth combat. (NOTE: Check your local Kingdom Armor Standards before buying or using this helmet) It is 18G, which is the required thickness of metal for the younger YOUTH fighters here in An Tir. The helmet is light weight, and not to heavy for younger kids.
It is NOT heavy enough to hold up against adults or Older kids (14+)
He has a fairly large head, and was able to fit into it fine. The visor DOES lift, which is nice...specially for kids who are NOT used to wearing a period helmet.
Warning, though...the front, bottom two edges of the helmet are pretty SHARP. I had to take the edges to a bench grinder to curve them a bit. This could also be done with a hand file. Or worse comes to worse, cover with some duct tape.
I fully recommend this helm for kids

I was pleasantly surprised to see that the visor is moveable. It is a nice item for my collection.
