This was supposed to be the conclusion of Callie and Kayden's story. However, readers are still left with unanswered questions. Maybe the author will round it out in Luke's book or a Callie/Kayden novella or something. There is no cliffhanger to speak but you are left wanting answers. Considering how powerful the first book was this one just didn't even come close emotionally. It was a good read and a must read after book one's shocking ending. I did get the feeling that maybe the author was rushed or just didn't have the same passion for the characters as she once had. There were many positives to this book. It dealt with 3 very serious emotional issues of bulimia, cutting, and rape. These touchy subjects were handled well. In addition, I fell in love with Luke and Seth. It would be nice to see a Seth book too. My biggest complaint would be the proof reading/ editing. This book had more grammatical errors of any "non-self published" book that I have ever read. At one time the main character is ever referred to by the wrong name. She is called Callie Owens by her mother. Owens is Kayden's last name and NO there is no marriage in this book. I was 20% in and wanted to search the publishing company myself to place a formal complaint. I am not sure if authors pay for editing and proof reading, but what an awful job done here. All in all, I am glad I read the book and I look forward to Luke's book.

I absolutely loved the first book and could not wait for the sequel. Although I am glad that Callie and Kayden got their "happy ending," I couldn't help but be disappointed in the ending. It was all very anticlimactic. I also felt like the book was very repetitive and lacked the spark of the first one.

First, I absolutely loved the first book. The characters are strong, broken and beautifully written. I have been impatiently waiting for this book. After I finished this book, I will admit I was let down. I thought this was the final book, and I was furious that there was so much left unanswered. However, finding out that there is a novella coming up, along with Luke's book, I am very relived. The story isn't done, and it couldn't successfully end with this book. Now with that out of the way...I did love this book. It was raw and real, it wasn't easy for them to connect, it wasn't easy for him to trust himself let alone with Callie. I liked that they didn't just automatically fall together. They faced so many demons and they did it on their own, I liked that even more. They were there for each other, but did things that needed to be done on their own. There were a few shocking moments in this book I didn't see coming, and those are the answers I am looking for. I think many of them will be answered in Luke's book as well as the final Callie and Kayden book. I am not done with this series, not at all!

One plea I have for Jessica, which prevented me from giving this 5 stars...PLEASE rethink your current editor. Personally, there is nothing more frustrating than being pulled out of the book from bad editing. I have read many of your books, starting with the Fallen Star series. I have recommended you to many, the editing with this book was a huge let down. This is something so simple that can be fixed, I hope it will with the final books for this series!

I fell in love with Callie and Kaden's story in the first book. I have been looking forward to the sequel to their story for months only to be sorely disappointed. I really wanted this book to wrap up the story and tie it in a pretty little bow. There was no wrapping and definitely no bow. I expected this book to really delve into the family drama with Kaden's addict Mother and abusive father, get into the history with Caleb and Callie's family, see a confrontation between Caleb and Callie's family.. confrontation with Kaden's family and Callie's family (I mean, they were close right?).. I just expected so so so much more. I feel like that this book was written just for the sake of writing a second book, and to set up a story for Luke. There was so much emotional angst set up with Kaden's mom and Dad, his cutting, etc.. and then they just left town.. and that's it. You have GOT to be kidding me!!! Thats IT!? Its just a cowardly way out. It wasn't dealt with. Same thing for Caleb.. he just disappears, Callie tells her parents, and everything is just forgotten about. Nothing was really dealt with. I hated it. So disappointed.

A difficult review to write because I'd grown quite attached to the main characters, Callie and Kayden, in their first book and was rather interested to know how their story progressed. I'd even pre-ordered the book because I'd drunk the Callie and Kayden Kool-Aid!

First thing I noticed is that this book was professionally published and edited, and the author thanks both in her Acknowledgements. I have had it with the incredible amount of misspellings / grammatical + content errors / inconsistencies in ebooks, books for which we pay and invest our time, and unfortunately even with the "editor" this book was no exception to this insulting and sad trend. Shoot! I didn't keep fastidious notes (because she didn't hire me), but I counted over fifty errors, and it's not a long book. Additionally, an editor (vice copy editor) should have worked with the author to clean up the double storytelling: for example, we'll read the event from Callie's perspective, move on, then BAM!, the author switches to Kayden's voice and we get to relive the exact same event. It made me want to whine "I know it already!" Neither a necessary nor useful technique, distracting, and felt like a very lazy author.

This book is not a standalone. I'd not reread the first book (Coincidence of Callie + Kayden) so admittedly a few references in Redemption made me think "what?" and forced me to reach way back in my memory as the author doesn't elaborate to include first-timers ... or forgetful readers like me.

Now to the things I liked:

Well, I LOVE that the author doesn't shy away from uncomfortable social issues, like rape, abuse, bulimia, cutting, gay teens, bullying, suicide, mental illness.
