In ‘Redemption Rising’, the final part of the series I was once again transported to the various kingdoms, which means the author did her job well. She interested me with the first book, intrigued me with the second, and created a satisfactory conclusion with the third. Importantly, all three were entertaining.
Relationships of all types, emotions across the scale and colourful characters pepper this story. Battle, capture, imprisonment, torture, and possible escape are all here, right alongside greed, heroism, love, hate, alliances and much more.
In my review of the second story I made mention of the formatting jarring me, so I feel it right I should highlight how well the dialogue was presented in this book.
If you prefer a lengthier relationship with characters and you’re prepared to open your mind to flights of fantasy - invest in this trilogy and you won’t be disappointed. Katharine E. Hamilton has created a healthy mix of modern language and age-old values to serve up a right Royal trilogy of entertainment.
This one was everything I was expecting to close out such a fantastic series.
The battle with the unfading lands is still on – going full throttle. The book begins with our favorite characters reeling from a crushing defeat at the hands of Lancer and his army. Not only were they pushed out, one of their princes is missing and they’re not sure who they can trust anymore. The group is battle weary but continues to be strong and determined, even going so far as to risk being trapped in the unfading lands themselves. Edward is consumed by more of the darkness, to the point where it begins to control some of his actions.
It was a thrilling end to a spectacular story. And my favorite part – we finally get everything wrapped up very nicely. At one point you’re worried that the fate of a certain character won’t be known, adding to the suspense. There aren’t enough good things I can say about this series. I’ve enjoyed it to point of stalking online to find out when this book would be released. Definitely a series I’ll be recommending.
