This story is complete heartbreaking yet at the same time heartwarming at the same time. Jaxon is an alpha male who finds these changes so hard to deal with and he lashes out and immediately feels bad afterwards. His life has done a complete 360 and he isn’t able to do for himself like he used to and that also weighs on him. That is how Destiny comes to be in his life and Destiny is there for him as a friend, and it grows into so much more.
This book will keep you hooked, as you would want to find out what happens to Jaxon and how Destiny leads him back to the land of the living. I loved how she opened her heart after the pain she had in her past and she let him into her heart. This is one story that will have you going thru tissues yet have you smiling at the ending.

it was amazing
What a heartbreaking story. I know myself just how devastating losing someone in a car accident can be, to not only lose two people but be in a bad way yourself for a long time, not remember and have to live feeling guilty for surviving I can only imagine. The accident itself happened right at the end of the last book, this picks up with Rylee and her family arriving at the hospital. From there on it is raw emotions, struggle and pain. Months with little progress, physiotherapy and just getting through each day. Anger and lashing out at those he loves becomes the only control he has around his life. Wow! I could understand and feel for all of these characters, each suffered loss and worry but in different forms. Trying to adapt and come to terms with everything and then start moving on, the guilt that comes with that as well is hard. Dealing with recovery from major injuries is a struggle all of its own. Angst, pain and loss are all incredible things to be dealing with and this author has dealt with it in an honest and understanding way. I don't want to spoil the story for anyone so I'm not going say to much about what happens further on in the book, except to say I didn't put this down unless I had to, I started it this morning and finished just a little while ago. Everyone deserves to have a second chance, and when the first chance goes bad through no fault of theirs then they deserve it even more. I loved this story, it hit me deep and I read a lot of it with tears not just for Jaxson but for Destiny and Rylee they had lost too.
This story had so much emotion throughout, and you couldn’t help but feel for everything that Jaxon was going through. He went from having it all, a loving wife and daughter, and a great career as a bull rider to nothing in the blink of an eye. When Jaxon meets Destiny, he’s angry, heartbroken, and despondent, but she slowly breaks through to him.
Seriously, this story was heartbreaking, but heartwarming at the same time. Jaxon was a rough character. He’s so angry at the hand he’s been dealt, he lashes out at everyone and pushes everyone away. He goes from being this alpha male, to having to rely on people just to be able to get around. As he starts to go through the stages of grief, Destiny is there for him as a friend, and it grows into so much more.
There were some really great scenes throughout the book. One that really stuck out to me the most was toward the end of the book when he goes to visit his wife’s gravesite. It was just such a well written and emotional scene. All the feels were there and it really got to me.
I’d highly recommend this one. It’s an emotional read, but so worth it!
