I attached a photo so you could see the size compared to a commercial jello cup. (sorry about the weird ruler! ha ha!) I made a box of sugar free jello and it filled 4 of them perfectly. So 1/2 cup each. They also are a good size to hold other food items...a hard boiled egg fits in there nicely too, so you can sorta figure that things like carrots or goldfish crackers would hold about a serving.
I have not microwaved mine, I do not think they are made for that purpose. So heating up your nacho cheese or peas might not be a good idea. I do pour the jello right in them after mixing, so they can handle some heat. I just put the lids on them then too, so no spilling on the way to the fridge and they are stackable this way.
I actually wash and reuse mine as many times as I can (before they accidentally get lost or broken by carrying them home empty.) My son was bending the lids off his which made them not fit as well the second time, so I had to show him how to lift it if different places so it doesn't fold. I don't plan on re-using them forever, but it just seemed wasteful to toss them everyday if I didn't have to (which was one of the reasons I bought them in the first place!) Still, if I fill them with paint or something really gross or sloppy, I don't need to try to wash them. I have even took a couple to put in my desk drawer to hold paperclips and coins.
I haven't had any lids not fit...I don't try to carry thin liquids in them, though. They are like fast food lids...will resist sloshing, but aren't really meant to transport upside down thin liquids.
Today I made a 4 cup box of Sugar-free Jello and then divided it up into six cups. It would cost about $4 to buy these ready made in the store -- my box of Jello was $1.03.
The cups are a good thickness and come with covers that snap on tight with no leaks. I filled a cup with water, held it upside down and then sat it on its side -- not even a drop of water leaked out. The cups are disposable, but there's no reason why they can't be washed and reused several times before tossing them out. I’m very happy with these cups -- I will definitely buy them again.
32oz tub of Yogurt (I use Dannon vanilla, lowfat)
1 ripe banana
2 Tbsp Peanut Buter
2 Tbsp honey
Mix in a blender, pour into containers, freeze for several hours/overnight, serve. Makes about 10.

The best part is that we can prep their lunches at the beginning of the week and then they can decide what they want to take in their lunches and help make them. I am already in the process of buying more.
