I came across this and it literally saved my knees. It's small, tough and effective (and cheap). Here are the exercises I do with this:
- First, just stand on it and watch a TV show for 30 minutes. No special exercises, just stand on it. That's good early on to build up muscles.
- With both feet on it, squat a bit like you're skiing. While watching TV, I'll alternate squatting and standing every 1 minute
- With both feet on it, try and roll the balance board (ie, have it lean forward, then forward-left, then left, etc).
- With one leg, squat and opposite leg extended behind you for 10 seconds. Then forward for 10 seconds, then to the side for 10 seconds. Switch legs.
You'll feel various weird calf and quad and hamstring muscles getting exercise. It can take a week or two, but you'll definitely notice a difference.
This also greatly reduced fatigue when I go skiing.
This doesn't get 5 stars because the plastic can crack if you get on it the wrong way. For instance, if it's on the ground, don't step in between the middle and edge as this can crack the edge. Try and get on either right in the middle with one leg, or on both edges. Mine has a few cracks from this.

The second problem is the balance point on the bottom: it's hard plastic. It would be nice to see some sort of rubber or gripping surface to add stability. As it is, when the girls on my softball team stand on this to catch medicine balls, the momentum of the ball spins them around and faces them away from their partner who is throwing the ball to them.
The piece is certainly sturdy enough, so Reebok gets credit for that. It's rated for 300 pounds. I don't reach that weight, but I'm pretty well north of 200, and in that regard, this board holds me comfortably.
All in all, I wanted a cheap imitation of a bosu ball. I got all the cheap, but not enough imitation.

cracked ( I am under 190 lbs. ). Will check with the company re replacement and if not will look for something more sturdy.
