-1-LIGHTNESS! These are almost weightless, period, yet worn all day EVERY day last me a couple years. Amazing value PERIOD.
-2-Durability- I only replace these if my Camelizer App alerts tell me they went on sale in a new color I want:-) These things just live forever.
-3-I am now badly disabled and it is hard to even lift my left foot so the fact these feel like being barefoot helps keep me Mobile and not tire out.
I have much nicer Reef sandals, more expensive sandals. But if you want light & lazy, cheap and comfortable, this is the one for all day every day use. I wear a size 10 1/2 but they do NOT offer 1/2 sizes. As a result I buy this version as well as all my other REEF sandals in size 11 and they fit me just fine. I have a somewhat wide foot yet these give me NO problems of any kind. Arch support on these is NOT the best-NOT the worst either. I would just say they offer "light" arch support but enough to not cause me any discomfort or any sort of problems whatsoever. I LOVE these particular sandal.
I love wearing flip flops but found my high arches to be a problem with cheap flip flops. I purchased my first pair of these about 10 years ago and haven't looked back. These sandals have enough arch support that I can wear them like any tennis shoe.
There are a few thing you should be aware of with these flip flops:
-Break in Period: When you first wear them they feel tight around the strap and there isn't too much arch support. After wearing them for about a week the straps loosen up and they mold to your foot.
-Traction: This particular pair of flip flops has almost no grip on a smooth wet floor. It isn't a deal killer but be aware if you frequent conditions like this. I didn't have this issue with the Mick Fanning reef sandals.
-Odor: For some reason my feet like to sweat. This sometimes results in odor that seems to stick with the flip flops. Soaking them in some water and baking soda overnight resolves this issue.
The only down side to these sandals is the EVA outsole. I can understand using it on the insole for comfort, but it's not durable enough for the bottom of a sandal in my opinion. After just a few days of walking on sidewalks / streets the bottoms are already showing significant signs of wear. I can't imagine they'll last more than a single summer of regular walking, which is a shame at this price point. The bottom of the soles really should be rubber.
