iBobber Helps You Find Fish Faster, No Matter Where You Cast Your Line
Catching more fish from shore requires some preparation and using a castable fish finder is a great way to figure out what the bottom looks like. The iBobber is one of the lightest of the portable fish finders that can be cast long distances to map the bottom contours and locate schools of fish or structure, ledges and holes where the big ones lurk. You can GPS mark spots, laydowns (trees that have fallen), weed beds, dropoffs and other underwater structure where fish might be lying in wait to ambush baitfish.
Dock and Pier Fishing
The iBobber is great addition to your tackle bucket for pier fishing. You’ll have the advantage over all the other anglers who don't know where the fish are. Whether in freshwater or at the ocean, just cast out to map the waterbed, mark fish and save GPS locations and you’ll catch more and larger fish every time. Use the iBobber fishfinder feature to locate and warn you when schools of fish gather under docks and piers and use the fish alarm to let you know when they are biting.
Kayak and (SUP) Fishing
Portable watercraft fishing is the fastest growing segment in the fishing industry and for good reason. Whether fishing in saltwater for redfish or freshwater for large or smallmouth the appeal of these craft is obvious, especially when many great fishing waterways don’t allow powered watercraft. There’s something primeval about getting closer to nature and your targets and doing battle with a big fish from a small boat. The iBobber is one of the perfect kayak accessory as a fish and depth finder that doesn’t require permanent installation and allows for reach beyond the hull.
Ice Fishing and Night Fishing
If your favorite angler loves ice fishing it makes a great Christmas / Holiday season gift because the recipient will be able to go out and use it immediately. The iBobber and app are ideal tools for ice fishing due to the light weight, portability and the fish finder and fish alarms, that let you know when fish are present and when they bite. Also use the trip log to save your favorite spots, water temps, depths and species caught and GPS marking for future trips.

Picked this up to answer those questions.
Right off the bat, I had an issue with updating the device. It required an update as soon as I linked to it(yours probably will too) but after speaking with a very helpful customer service rep, we got it squared away.
Updating the device hint: The directions were very clear and straight forward, after linking it as per the directions (no issues with that) it required an update. It wasn’t updating the way it said to in the directions. So we figured out that it needs to be in the charging cradle to update properly. I hope this tip helps you out if you’re having the same issue I did.
Besides the update issue, it has worked flawlessly and has helped me land a few big bass, as well as helped me see what was going on in the water. Definitely a product worth the money.
I have received it today and though I should give it a shot since I live near a big lake.
Completed first setup in a bowl of water by reading manual and watching the videos.
Setup was simple and went well. I have charged it over an hour until i see the flashing lights and %100 on the app.
Went to the lake, about 20-30 yard cast;
-Intermittent connectivity, I have tried on two mobile phone (newest models) and a tablet, NO LUCK
-Reeled to get it close, all the sudden connection lost
-Tried again, worked like 10 minutes but couldn't see any fish (at the same time im getting bites to crappie rig on my other pole)
-Reeled and casted again little closer
BOOM NO MORE CONNECTION!!!
reeled it back, dried it waited a little, casted back but now app cannot find it.
an hour after I have tried it again, it looks like it is completely dead because app cannot find it anymore.
I couldn't keep it too short but, SIMPLY DON'T MESS WITH IT, YOU GET WHAT YOU PAY FOR.
Only negative worth noting was getting the firmware to update took several tries to get it to work. Not sure what the issue was, but the product FAQs were really lacking in the firmware update troubleshooting area.
Love the device overall and highly recommend it to my fellow anglers!
Am returning to get a legitimate fish finder now.
