I ordered this to make shaved ice for my kids. When I set this machine up I wasn't sure how hard it was going to be to use. It ended up being very easy. I popped the top off and filed it with ice cubes from the fridge and it started making shaved ice right away. Regular refrigerator ice cubes work well but the nugget ice from my ice machine fits into the machine better. With the nugget ice the machine makes shaved ice much faster. I decided to try using the popsicles that come fifty to a package for a couple dollars just to see what happens. This is my favorite trick I have learned using the cheap freeze pops mixed 50/50 with ice makes shaved ice they love. It saves a ton of mess versus having the bottles of snow cone flavoring. With this machine I cut open a couple freeze pops add ice and have a nice treat that I would have ended up spending about ten dollars on for less than a dollar. With the amount of money I am saving making shaved ice for the kids this machine will pay for it self in a couple months.

This ice shaver is about as hands-free as you can get. The top holds ice cubes and it spins around exposing two contact points over the blade. The top reservoir doesn't hold enough ice to produce a pitcher full of shaved ice, so if you need a lot, it would take probably 3 rounds of ice.

Most ice cubes will work, but there IS a max size since the ice has to fit through a hole to be exposed to the blade. That would be the only thing to watch out for.

Basically this machine shaves ice cubes to make a snow-cone like pile of shaved ice. You dump ice cubes into the top and activate the grinder by twisting the lid. The shavings fall into the pitcher and the internal mixing arm keeps the shavings from clumping up. You can add liquid like juice or lemonade to the bottom of the pitcher or presumably pour it over the ice later. I wish the pitcher was a little more "pour-friendly", because it tends to dump out the shaved ice unless you use a spoon or spatula. That is a small quibble - basically this thing does exactly what it is designed for. It's kind of loud and it takes a few minutes to make a cup of ice, so it's great for one or two people at a time. The whole thing is made of plastic so it doesn't;t seem like it will last forever, but I still like it and plan to make sno-cones as long as it lasts.

This is so much fun. My son and I loved shaving the ice and figuring out what we wanted to put in the ice. I even shaved up some frozen fruit and then just carefully cleaned out the fruit residue. My complaints are there is no power switch, and the instructions don't explain the difference of the settings you can choose from. But even with that I'm excited to have this in my house.

It's 7PM and the feels like temp is 105F. This couldn't have arrived on a better day! I had some peach flavored syrup and that was the only incentive we needed. We broke out the ice and the littles got the G rated ones. We adults kicked it to level spicy and we used a certain raspberry liquor to make ours. None of us complained. I even made some for the dogs and poured beef broth over them. They loved theirs too. This is so easy to use. It's not a pain to clean. It is a skosh noisy, but it's crushing ice. That's not silent work. I have a strong feeling that this will accompany us to camp on the weekends and won't be put away until first frost! Great value and well made! Happy to have on hand!

The Reemix shaved ice machine makes shaved ice fast and is very easy to use! Just put ice in the machine and it will churn out shaved ice in no time. I use shaved ice for deserts and flan. There is no power on/off button, only plug and unplug.

My kids love getting snocones from the Kona ice truck when they have it at events so I figured they’d love this at home. It’s a small one so you can only make one at a time but that’s ok. I like eating the plain shaved ice with no flavoring too. This is easy to operate, just put your ice cubes in and start. I’ll tell you this it works way easier than the snoopy snow cone machine I had as a child. Lol. This is going to get a lot of use this summer. And it doesn’t take up a ton of room on the counter either, which is good. I don’t really have any complaints here. If it breaks after a few weeks or something I will come back and update but otherwise I would absolutely recommend this item.

I got this this Reemix Shaved Ice Machine (Model # BH9271) so I could make slushies and snow cones for my grand daughters this summer.

The machine is pretty compact and does not take up a lot of space on your counter. It's made from a nice quality ABS plastic and includes a clear 1L plastic jug to hold the ice shavings. It has 4 suction cup feet on the bottom that help prevent it from moving on your counter.

There's a knob on the front that allows you to select three different levels of ice coarseness; Coarse (1 ice cube) for thicker chunks of ice, Medium (2 ice cubes) for moderately thick ice, and Fine (3 ice cubes) for very fine ice shavings.

To use it, you first have to insert the mixing paddle into the plastic jug and then insert the jug unto the machine. Lock the jug in place by twisting it clockwise which will also raise it slightly to engage the mixing paddle. Then, make sure the ice hopper is locked in place and fill it to the Max Fill line. Then use the knob to select the coarseness of ice you want, place the lid on the ice hopper and twist it clockwise to lock it in place. The machine will start working only once the lid is locked in place.

The Fine setting produces a nice, fluffy shaved ice that's the perfect texture for slushies and snow cones. It is a little slow in this setting and you need to make sure you keep the ice hopper filled, but it had no issues filling the 1L jug which was enough for 4 snow cones. The Coarse setting is a little faster and produces ice shavings that are between 3mm and 5mm in size.

Overall I'm very happy with quality, price point and how well this shaved ice machine works, so it gets a highly recommended and 5 out of 5 stars.

Very impressed by this little guy, surprisingly small for the power and amount of ice it crushes. For 2-3 people, it's perfect with just a few handfuls of ice.

It produces a surprising amount, it does need a full hopper to get started, though. If it's on fine, which I found perfect for slushes with cordial, it might leave a couple of cubes. I knocked it to a coarser grind, and it emptied it fully.

It is quite loud, but it's grinding ice. It is going to be loud. I did find it stayed put though, I didn't realise until after using it that it also has suction feet, and could have pressed it down. It might have silenced it a little, but it was still fine to stand next to.

The fine is excellent for slushes and the large gives good 3x1cm shards that are great for crunching on.

It's really easy to take apart, intuitive too! I moved the box over the manual and just assumed it didn't have one, and took it apart and reassembled it with ease. The stirrer in the jug, feels like it shouldn't work the way that it does, but it really does. Very impressed with it! If only we had a summer this year!

 I've never made a slushie before; it was fun and so easy with this Reemix Shaved Ice Machine. The ice shaver shaved the ice really quickly and fine, although it left about two ice cubes in the top. It makes it very easy to make slushies whenever you want; all you need is some kind of syrup or topping along with ice.

The ice shaver comes in a brown cardboard branded box with a short instruction manual, and the mixer that goes inside the cup separate. There is also a sheet that says there is a 2-year warranty which I always think is a good sign. The blade, cup, and top are already set into the ice mixer which I appreciated.

It's very easy to use this ice shaver; just plug it in - make sure that the lid is off or it will immediately start working - pour some ice into the top, adjust the knob to big chunks, medium, or fine ice shavings, and put on the lid. It will immediately start shaving or chopping the ice.

I found that the machine wobbled a lot as it shaved the ice. It also left two ice cubes in the top that wouldn't chop up but that is no big deal. My wish list of possible improvements would be to have the base be heavy and sturdy so that it wouldn't wobble; to have an off position for the knob; and to have the ice cup be glass instead of plastic. It has four suction cups on the bottom and I wonder if they make it more unstable. But with that said it still works really well, and makes it easy and fun to make a slushie.

The ice shaver shaves the ice quickly. I poured the shaved ice into a bowl, mixed up some natural low glycemic lemonade with a small amount of water, and poured it on top. It tasted delicious but it did start to melt the ice so next time I will use less water.

You can make slushies so quickly and easily with this ice shaver, or chop up ice for any other reason. Just make sure that you are there while using it because the machine wobbles while working.

I have a manual ice shaver, but it is hard work, and I thought this electrical one would be great to try, expecially for larger quantities.
Unpacking: in the box is the main machine, with the separate mixing paddle and a good, clear instruction manual. It's provided with a good UK plug, and when I checked the fuse, it had the correct 3A fuse for this 25W machine, so the makers are obviously clued up on our particular UK requirements for electrical goods.
In use, the machine is noisy, as other reviewers have noted. However, I think any machine crushing ice is going to be noisy, so I am not surprised by that. It crushes the ice very effectively, prdoducing both the finer 'snow' for snow cones and a coarser crushed ice that I love for drinks. I had also prepared for testing it by freesing some coffee and some mango juice in ice cube trays, and it worked really well with both, producing a sort-of mango granita and base for a lovely frappé. Really very happy with this, and tonight it'll be frozen Margaritas! Recommended.

I was not sure if this would really deliver on the snow style shaved ice. I have tried another machine before and the output was not flully at all. But this thing, it delivers. The machine is about 2/3 as loud as a blender, but even at that my dog does not like it and barks at the sound it makes. It takes about 1.5 minutes to make enough shaved ice to make a Large Iced Cap. The snow cones are exactly what my family gets at the kids soccer fields without the 6$ per cup price tag, I picked up some syrup and some pump heads, and a large cup takes about 3 pumps of the syrup. So I think I'm about 30 cents to make a snow cone, so I like that this is going to actually save me some money. After about 11 cups, the savings pays off this machine and 2 more to pay off the syrup. The mixing stick in the cup needs to be guided to the lock area, I found I needed to guide it into place, if you just put the cup in and turn, it is not alway lined up - not a big deal or deal break, just and FYI. I hae own then machine for just a couple of days and I have already made 4 snow cones and 3 ice caps.

I complete recommend this machine, in the end it pays for itself.
