[WARNING! Possible Spoiler Alert!]
...sending the lander craft into the past.
Imagine the thoughts of those folks at the Jet Propulsion Laboratory (JPL) on July 21, 1976, when their own Viking lander started sending color images back to Earth, only to reveal what looks like human footprints in those images!
[END of Spoiler Alert]
I have no trouble at all believing that eventuality would be a strictly enforced 'secret' you and I would not have heard about 40 years ago. That simple notion gives "Re-entry Window" a real element of believability, making it all the more enjoyable to read.
This was a great short story, and I recommend it to all 'time travel' fans, 'Twilight Zone' fans, and space exploration fans. I would have given it 4.5 stars if possible.
It's a short story (which was disappointing, but I can understand why it has to be). Can't really discuss what the story's about without giving away the ending, suffice to say an astronaut finds himself stranded on Mars all alone.
Good quick read! I'd like to read more from the author.
