Silencing any suggestions that he's any less capable than his more high-profile Black Star partner Mos Def, Talib Kweli, along with DJ Hi-Tek, crafts a masterful debut with Reflection Eternal. Like Mos, Kweli displays an impressive range of styles and sensibilities--whether popping party lyrics on "Move Something," reflecting on the mysteries of the heart for "Love," or musing on hip-hop's death and rebirth for "Good Mourning." In comparison to Mos Def's status as a new funk soul brother, Kweli's more of a b-boy bookworm--erudite and articulate, but he can also let fly with fire and spark on the mic anytime. DJ Hi-Tek finally gets to show off his full range of production ability with a blend of hot, aggressive tracks ("Blast") and relaxed groovers ("Memories"). As good a debut as you could ask for. --Oliver Wang

This CD is so good i had a hard time picking out which track to listen to first. "This Means You"? Or "Eternalists"? I just didn't know. The hidden track entitled "For Women" is an excellent song. With the ill lyrics of Talib Kweli and the producing/DJ of Hi-Tek, you can't lose on this album. "Good Mourning", explains death and how some people a afraid to die. "This Means You", features Mos Def and is an excellent track explaining how things have changed and telling you to get up and do something about it. "Down for the Count" features Xzibit and Rah Digga and goofs on commercial artists. If you like ungerground hip-hop or looking for something to listen to thats worth its money, put down Lil' Bow Wow and grab a copy of Talib Kweli and Hi-Tek's "Reflection Eternal" (Train of Thought). I'm out for now, peace.

Talib Kweli and DJ Hi Tek. What more can be said about the dynamic duo. They're collaboration together is just blazing. Nearly every song offers something that either makes your head nod and booty shake, mellows you out as Kweli flows over a silky smooth beat that only a producer with the prowress of Hi Tek could create, or, the music makes you do something that is rare in Hip Hop now-a-days, it makes you think. In my book, Kweli is one of the last lyricists that rhyme about something besides material possesions along with the likes of Mos Def(whose album "Black On Both Sides" is essential), Common, ect. Bottom line, if you don't have it get. Its a shame he doesn't get more air time than he does on BET or the radio, especially since he reps black people to the fullest, but that's my opinion.Cop It!

I have never listened to a CD and got this strange feeling of wanting to listen to it for an hour or 2 on end. Hi tek is truely on point with sum out-of-this-world production and Kweli is outstanding dilivering such heavy lyrics. The duo are soul mates in music terms and have kept hip hop to the standard that it sould be. A classic on its own that should never be under-rated.
