"Tom Ingrassia has a wonderful way of conveying the magic of The Motown Sound from a fan's perspective, rare photos and stories--interesting and informative." Annette Helton, Original Vandella
"The emergence of Motown Records and its artists was a point of pride for me and my friends as a kid growing up in metro-Detroit in the 1960s. Now, more than fifty years later, we still smile with pride whenever and wherever a Motown song is played. That love shines through in Reflections Of A Love Supreme." Randall Wilson, author of Florence Ballard: Forever Faithful
I can't think of a better conduit between the fans of yesteryear and today's music fans than Tom Ingrassia." June Monteiro of The Toys
From the Author
Growing up in the 1960s, I fell in love with show business through the music of Motown. My life changed forever on December 27, 1964, when I saw The Supremes for the first time on "The Ed Sullivan Show." I was 11 years old, and I told my mother, "I'm going to meet them someday." From that moment on, I could literally trace my life through the music of Motown.
Imagine my joy when, just eight years later, I did meet The Supremes, when I interviewed Mary Wilson for a project I was working on. My dream came to full fruition when, in 2000, Mary Wilson offered me a job managing her merchandising business.
Looking back, I can trace everything I do in life today--and every success I have achieved--to that magical night in December, 1964, when my dream was born. This book is a tribute to the inspiration that the music of Motown and its artists provided to so many of my generation. You never know where your inspiration will come from....
