To the Author:
Your talent is incredible. I love Jack because when I was a little girl I could read Beatrix Potter and escape. With Jack's story a reader does not need to escape anything. You start out with a little sadness, happiness, hope, uncertainty and some fear. You bring us along gently so that we understand that this is your perfect love. You prepare us for Jack to die. And just when we think we will die from grief right along with you, Jack rescues us right along with you. All of us. No matter how long our pets were here. No matter how they died. Whether they were old and sick like my Harley or a puppy hit by a car. Your were careful to include the abused.. And to include the abusers. You included the infirm and the old and cranky. And the kind. And the people who seem to have no capacity to love. Thank God!
There was not one base you did not cover in the grieving process, including your own father. I wish someone had read this to me when I was eight years old... It would have made all the difference in my life.
From the Author
I cannot begin to fathom what my life would have been like without knowing and loving Jack. He transformed me and changed the way I live my life. He taught me that prayers are answered and that dreams really do come true. By the time you reach the end of this book, you will be transformed by his love and wisdom too. I can imagine him wagging his tail already.
