I loved it. At first, I wondered if I was going to like it as it's slated in the Young Adult section. Don't let that put you off. The characters are so well written and deeply developed that you will be immersed in the story and want to keep going. The author does leave each book with a cliffhanger, which just made me keep going (hence the binge read).
I liked that the books weren't short little tiny reads. They had a good length to them. As far as being predictable, there were a few spots that I guess what was up, but a whole lot more that I didn't even see coming.
The way the characters interact with each other is awesome. I especially love the relationships between Abby, her Dad and Brace. The characters don't always get along, happily ever after, and that makes things feel more real. In each book, a new half walker is introduced. Some of them are spitfires, some gentle, but they all bond in a believable way.
Well, Abby and the gang, more specifically Brace, Lucy, and the delectable Colton help save them from the Fringe so that Ria can go back and help them fight the Seventine.
Lucy has had a devastating vision of Brace and Abby, which ends up having to come to fruition after the half-walkers are unable to prevent the fourth Seventine from being released. It sucks. Seriously. However, I am an eternal optimist and know deep down that Abby and Brace will come back together, and BONUS! We get to see a new chase (on Brace's part) for Abby's heart. Ahh, I just love it! Jaymin did NOT disappoint with this one and I CANNOT WAIT for the next one!
I am so ecstatic that I stumbled upon Jaymin Eve's books, cannot remember how now, but I am now a fan for life. She is one of my top 5 favourite authors. Her books are generally based around strong female characters, who are drop dead gorgeous without being pretentious, they can kick ass and yet still retain their femininity. The worlds she creates are magnificent and the intricacies of her story telling are breathtaking.
The Walker Series are based on seven half breed supernatural women from seven different realms who need to be united to battle a great evil that threatens the existence of all the realms. Each book is a story of the task one of these woman has to try to convince the others of their importance in this final battle. There is more than one obstacle to overcome, the greatest being the ability for each of these woman to blindly trust each other and accept the hand that fate has given them in order to survive. Magnificent story telling!
