This is a very well crafted product. Even though it's just an accent in most drinks you really get a huge depth of flavor from it. Despite being pretty alcoholic stuff it's even fairly palatable straight up (not that I'd serve it that way, but I tasted a few sips in a shot glass just to get a feel for it.) On the nose the straight product has a nice fresh orange scent followed by the bitter herb aroma and the alcohol, tasting it straight the orange is fresh but subdued by bitters with some notes of a cloves and fennel and wood.

In my favorite application so far, the dry martini, it really ties the drink together and brings out the herbal notes in the gin in a very pleasing way. I'll no longer mix martinis without it.

In a completely different area of the kitchen I flavored some sweetened whipped cream with a squeeze of fresh orange juice, a bit of zest and a few heavy dashes orange bitters for a nice not-too-sweet complement for rich chocolate desserts.

Gary Regan's eponymous cocktail bitters are the best orange bitters available today.

Not all cocktails are better with Angostura's classic bitters. Sometimes you want a little citrus lift in your drink. Although other orange bitters from Fee's, Stirring's and Angostura itself are more widely available, they each have drawbacks. Fee's is overwhelmingly pungent... with orange extract notes that seem artificial. Antostura's Orange bitters don't have the magical concentration and complexity that regular Angostura has in spades. And Stirrings Orange Bitters aren't even bitters!

Using Plymouth Gin in a 4:1 ratio with Noilly Pratt Extra Dry Vermouth, and a healthy dash of this bitters, topped with a lemon twist expressed on top, I got the smoothest, most velvety Martini. Perfect.

Using Martin Miller's Westbourne Strength Gin in a 2:1 ratio with Noilly Pratt Extra Dry Vermouth, and a healthy dash of this bitters, topped with a lemon twist expressed on top, I got the smoothest, most velvety Martini. Perfect.

Absolutely the best bitters I've ever had. Soooo much better than the Peychaud's that everyone says should be in a Rye Sazerac martini. Also great in Yazi ginger vodka (if you can find it!). The orange flavor is delightful without being sweet.

I am a bartender and purchased this bottle for work. First I would like to say that Regan's orange #6 is a wonderful addition to a myriad of cocktails, and I am completely satisfied with the product. I have a major problem, though, with the fact that this listing claims free shipping. I received a card in my mailbox from USPS stating that they were holding my package at the post office pending $6.91 postage due. This brought what started out as a great deal @ $15 for 10 oz. to a not as great deal @ almost $22 plus a 15 mile round trip to the post office. If anyone's post office is like mine, they know that a simple stop to pick something up does not exist. Please be aware that you WILL be resonsible for shipping. 4 stars is for the product, NOT for the seller.

My boyfriend and I have been having fun making vintage cocktails at home, so I got these orange bitters for this, and we haven't been disappointed. The flavor is mild and slightly sweet, which works great for me. It's not spicy or strong like angusura bitters, but it has worked great for the drinks we have made so far. And if you are looking for move information about these bitters and recipes to try, I recommend the book Vintage Spirits and Forgotten Cocktails: From the Alamagoozlum to the Zombie 100 Rediscovered Recipes and the Stories Behind Them

It's amazing how many beverages benefit from orange bitters, and Regan's is the best. We've tried most of the other brands, but this is the one we're going to stick with for our home bar. It's nice that they have a larger size, because it goes quickly in the summer when you're making pitchers of Sangria for the weekend.

I was looking for Peychaud's bitters, needed for a Sazarac cocktail, and found that there are all kinds bitters out there... Not just the ubiquitous Angostura...Put a couple of dashes of this in a cosmopolitan, and it gives it a more interesting flavor.
