In lady Varney’s risqué business Lady Kitty Varney runs a discreet matchmaking business to support herself and pay off her late husband gambling debts. One client that she decides to help find a wife is none other than Viscount Justin Belmont the very man she was forbidden to marry years ago. Justin is pretty selective and makes one demand spend one night with him can Kitty one of the candidates Justin has in mind do it or will Justin marry another with Kitty watching. I did like Kitty even though I wanted a little bit more into her previous life and what exactly happened between her and Justin. I would have liked to read what happened between the two within the seven years they were away from each other. Also I think Justin needed to be described a little bit better. I had a hard time forming in my mind what type of person he was physical descriptions aside because there is more to person than just that. He just seemed to be all physical lust and lists than an actual person. He was okay but I just wanted a little more so I could at least fall for him a little. I didn’t really feel anything for him. The novella moved a little too fast for my taste. Just as I was starting to understand what was going on the book was already done. Still I enjoyed the novella and rated it four stars.
In rendezvous with a duke Anna Fournier while shopping for piano music for her cousin Lettice is caught playing a piece that she composed on the pianoforte. Hugh Lattimer the duke of Kendal comes in the same time to buy a pianoforte and hears Anna playing the pianoforte. Hugh can’t forget the beautiful music or Anna plus wanting to court her no matter the cost. Anna was musical which I really liked about her since I also play the piano and knew some of the musical styles mentioned despite it being brief it still made me happy to read. I really liked Hugh too he was an amazing hero who was handsome and didn’t really care about the scandal surrounding Anna just entranced with her music and her. Yes it was a little insta-love and a little quick for my taste but for some reason it just totally works that’s why I rated the book four stars.
In masquerade with a marquess Sophia di Contini originally from Italy leaves the confines of her home to sail to England to look for Fragonard paintings that were stolen from her family. Victor Cameron marquess of Winterbourne captures Sophia even though she escapes him but does come back and with Victor’s help they go to look for the paintings together. I still really liked the hero Victor; he was sexy, handsome a little stiff but then again he was a marquess okay he didn’t really act like that to the help or the ones serving him so a good reason to like him. A gentleman with a conscious and who seemed human so easily a hero to fall for even though he treated Sophia less than ideal a few times. I kept thinking she provoked him at every turn so he didn’t really have a choice but to treat her as she was treating him. Sophia desires him, traps him and even goes so far as to sleep with him toying with his feelings. I just really didn’t like her so much. Still I really enjoyed the story and rated it four stars.
