Amy's smooth writing style presents undeniable attraction between two lovely characters deserving to be loved for who they are. Some explicit m/m sex, some walks on the beach and one serious kick-ass massage later...bada badda-bing boom bang: a very satisfying HFN with a lot of buy in from me for a HEA.
Angsty family history and angsty phone interactions on occasion, age difference.
If you like the sound of this contemporary mm romance I recommend
Clear Water by Amy Lane
The Ghost Wore Yellow Socks by Josh Lanyon
Dancing Lessons by R. Cooper
Love by Design by Sam Morgan
I know this story will be called sweet and an easy holiday read and whatnot, and those are true, but that's not why I loved it so much. What I loved was how our intrepid author played the needs and reticence of these two guys against the looming deadline. It is beautifully done, that kind of believable that makes you forget if you dislike any of the tropes because you so want them to work it out somehow but you're not sure how. And also I laughed often, and I might have teared up several times, and one metaphor is haunting me now.
This one's highly recommended.
Pierce is recovering from a major accident, newly separated from his wife and in the process of divorce. Hal has been shipped away yet again from his wealthy, look how perfect we are family. Together they develop a friendship that slowly blossoms into more. Hal needs to trust others with his heart again. Pierce needs to feel whole again. Can they both become the Knight the other needs?
In true Amy Lane form we have some angst, but not too much. Regret Me Not is about friendship and possibilities and love. I love the humor, the music, the Target trips, and the sense of promise!
I can't wait to see what Hal & Pierce might get up to through the year.
