An impressive follow up to the first book--really glad I kept reading. I laughed aloud too many times to count and forced the reason WHY I was laughing onto the lucky people in my life, sometimes snapping screenshots of highlighted jokes and sending them as texts to other readers I know.

Kane is a bit of a brat, but a lovable brat, and Rebel is a badass that I kind of adore. I'd follow them on any adventure at this point, I think.

Epic, long ending that played out almost as good as a Brandon Sanderson finale (which is saying a lot, since those finales are unbeatable).

The protagonists, Rebel and Kane along with their motley crew dive headfirst into their next quest, The Hammer, yep, that one. It’s been located and the vampires want it bad. Bad is what they get when they run headlong into Kane’s team of “collectors”. Interesting twist on the ancient relic and it’s location. And interesting changes in the team members. As always plenty of action and drama plus a puzzle is unraveled. Great series and I heartily endorse it, two thumbs up. By the way the cover art is awesome and looks great in my book shelf. Try it you won’t be disappointed.

OK so I'm going to to give an honest review of Relic Hammer. I gave it 4 stars but that was through much soul searching. The problem was that I had read Relic Blade and really enjoyed it so I ran to Relic Hammer. It started off great but by the time it came to the scene in the museum, sorry spoiler, I found I couldn't really care about the story or how the hero did. I put the book down and went to read another book and really couldn't get into that one either. So I thought maybe it was me, maybe yesterday just wasn't the day to be reading.
So, long story short, I told myself to give the book another try and just waited to return to it a few hours later. It was totally my fault because I picked it up and was actually enjoying myself. I finished the book within a few hours even while living my life and shopping for a used car for my daughter. I enjoyed the fight scenes and the secondary character development. I'm sorry but the last few chapters were pretty predictable and I totally called it when Bonehead first came on to the scene and that belief solidified when Kane and Bonehead had their "duel". Other than that the book was great and I would have given it five stars but I don't really know what made my attention wander from the book.

This series has grabbed me by my tonsils and taken off to worlds unknown! Unique, exciting, unpredictable, humorous, thrilling and so far- fetched as to blow your mind. If Rebel had actually died in China, I would have never read another one of this series, but thank the forces that be, she didn't and now I am hooked and will read every single book in this series and anything else by this author. I am having a great time sharing in Kane's and rebel's adventures.

This is the 2nd book in a great new urban fantasy series, which started with Relic: Blade, with a winning combination of action and laugh out loud humour. There was action from the start with a great mixture of new characters and more depth to the ones you already knew from the first book. This story was addictive and kept me wanting to read more even though I knew I had to get up early for work in the morning?! This is turning into a great new series and I absolutely cannot wait to read more!

Booke 2 in the series and is a great read especially as the Norse Pantheon is my fave things to read about Ben has done his homework again well for this book it has Vallhalla and some of the Gods you would associate it with and to top it off mjolnir :-)
Lots of action and Kane is looking for answers about his parents if you enjoyed the first one you will love this.

Brilliant second book. But so much questions ... what are the twins developing into and was it deliberate? What did Kane's father have to do with the vampire awakening? Is Bonehead good or bad? My only gripe is that the death of one character just seemed skimmed over with just a couple of throw away lines. Otherwise fast paced, likeable characters and a really enjoyable read.
