The editors did a really poor job on this book. I tried to use it in my college level course on religion and healing and found it to be a dismal choice. Many of the chapters are general overviews that make no analytical point whatsover. It seems that the editors gave little to no direction to contributors and provided lax oversight to the project.

This text was extremely dry and difficult to read. I was expecting more explantations of cultural practices but just got a history of christianity mixed in with a few buddhist thoughts here and there and some mentions of chinese medicine. not. a. fan.
