About the author

Sundari Venkatraman is an Indie Author who has 60 books to her credit. These books have consistently featured in the Top 100 Bestseller Lists on Amazon India, Amazon USA, Amazon UK, Amazon Canada and Amazon Australia in both romance as well as Asian Drama categories. Her latest hot romances have all been on #1 Bestseller slot in Amazon India for over a month.
These days, the author is independently publishing her novels in paperback format under her banner Flaming Sun, printed and distributed by Notion Press.
Even as a child, Sundari absolutely loved the ‘lived happily ever after’ syndrome and she grew up on a steady diet of fairy tales, Phantom comics and Mandrake comics. It was always about good triumphing over evil and a happy ending after the protagonists surmounted all unexpected obstacles.
Once she entered her teens, Sundari switched her loyalties from fairy tales to Mills & Boon. While she loved reading both of these, she kept visualising what would have happened if there were similar situations happening in India; to local heroes and heroines. And of course, the joy of vanquishing the ubiquitous evil villains! Her imagination soared and she happily ensconced herself in a rosy romantic cocoon for many years.
Then came the writing—a true bolt from the blue! And Sundari Venkatraman has never looked back.

I loved the chemistry between the characters a lot. I understand Nikita's viewpoint when it comes to marriage her fear is dread at such a young age. Various questions pop up at this stage, what if it doesn't work out or what if I don't love this person, am I going into this too fast? Anxiety hits you like a train upon her experience with love marriage haunting her. Nikita is the one who runs away from the suggestion of marriage and Krish wanting it with her makes it the perfect love story with all the drama, climax and oh such an amazing ending. The age gap in both of the characters doesn't seem to affect their chemistry nor does their love for each other. Their different perspectives on life and still being able to live with that fascinate me. And the fact that the author manages to justify and bring light to both their perspectives is amazing. It's the unexpected turns in life that the character's decisions bring that I adored.
Being such a short book that can be completed in one sitting it had a lot of ups and downs and made me fall in love with it.
The cover is pretty decent and cute.
I have to say this, Sundari Venkatraman is an amazing writer for the most part. The language she uses is easy to understand, the plot easy to follow and the stories engaging.
I loved the romantic short story and I would recommend it to anyone interested in the genre. Happy reading guys!

So, it was a Friday evening, some common friends had got together to party at a bungalow on Madh Island. Girish introduces Krish to Nikita, and they chatted comfortably like long-lost friends, the difference in their ages, Nikita being twenty-one and Krish twenty-eight does not seemingly matter. It was love at first sight for Krish as he had fallen for Nikita, body, mind and soul. As for Nikita, she was fascinated that such a handsome and intelligent guy, so much older than her, was showering attention on her.
Over the next few weeks, while Krish began eyeing the young lady as his prospective life partner, Nikita came to look upon him as a friend, guide and philosopher.
So what happens next?
Will Nikita too fall in love with him?
Will they be Married?

The language is pretty lucid and beginners friendly. I enjoyed the human complexity author tried to show with different characters, mindsets and reactions of them in certain situations. The story is very gripping. A reader would be hooked to it till the very end. The story had good bones and some part was really beautiful. I loved the idea that the author had while writing this book. And looking forward to more such books by him. A one-time read just for the fresh concept. Highly recommend. 🌸

The story revolves around Nikita and Krish. Nikita is a bubbly girl who just passed her graduation and is not ready to be in a relationship or marriage at this time because of her experience with love marriage. But Krish is a successful person and wants to settle with her for the rest of his life desperate to marry her. Though Niki said no to him but for a reason she agreed with his proposal after eight months with a weird condition. Krish agreed to her condition because he wants her desperately.
What is the condition between them?
Will Niki accept him as his husband?
Can Krish control his emotions?
This is a short read of 48 pages and I finished this in a few minutes as I couldn't put down the boom for a second. The language is easy to understand so It makes the read short and spontaneous.
The emotions after marriage brew between the couples, the butterfly in your stomach when you fell in love with the person in the first meeting are so beautiful. A cosy romantic love story to indulge in.

Krish and Nikita are almost similar just a little apprehensive about taking steps in life because of their backgrounds and what they have seen while growing up. While one wants to get it sealed the other doesn't belive in the very institution of marriage and therefore doesn't want to spoil the relationship at hand.
No one is wrong in this case because everyone has their right to emotions and the steps they want to take forward, and maybe respecting the other person's choice is one of the purest forms of love even when you know the other person in heart wants something else but still, sometimes we have to give them time, provide them with that wisdom to make choices by themselves only and not after being forced by someone else.
The last chapter has been depicted with most reality it feels like something called love and not just mentioned body parts which is quite rare to find in stories and that was a plus point in this one.
These are the kind of short stories that lights up one's mood and are fun to read as well the writing style was what made me happy it was simple and sweet and enhanced the experience of reading this story.

The Reluctant Bride is a story of two main characters Krish and Nikita, this is a very short book and can be easily completed in an hour. The way author kept both characters with a strong portrayal and not compromised. The story is indeed character-driven which keeps the interest of the reader in the plot. The story has been embedded around these characters and how they both met? Krish and Nikita both met with each other through a mutual friend set-up. Krish who has returned from abroad in his late twenties and is also a chief operating officer in an IT firm and Nikita who is entering her twenties. They both met on one weekend evening through their friends.
The author strongly articulated to both characters that it didn't feel any compromise, which made this book equally character-driven as well.
Will they fall in love with each other or they will choose the path of friendship? I will not spill more beans as it's a quick read.
The way complexities of human behaviour had been shown in the book by the author is eloquent using different parameters is amazing.
The narration is crisp and the language is indeed magical. The cover goes pretty well with the plot and story of the book. As always the author has hooked me till the end of the book and I'm glad that I had laid my hands on this.
