This is my first book in the Park City Firefighter romances. Once again, Cami delivers a fun, quick read that is pleasantly different from so many romances out there. I don't know if it's the locations she visits or what, but I love her writing.

Caylee is a fun loving, in your face kind of girl. However, she has her dark secrets too. The kind that make you ache for her. Levi is a great match for her. He wears his pain on the outside, with his fun side hidden deep. I loved that they needed to bring each other's hidden side out in order for both of them to heal and be ready for the love waiting for them.

I give Reluctant Rescue a 4.5 and a Clean rating.

1-5 scale and what it means:
1: I couldn’t even finish it / just plain bad
2: I hope I didn’t pay for this / disappointing
3: I didn’t hate it, but it was still missing something / forgettable but inoffensive
3.5: On the line between good and ok / like, not love
4: Solid mind candy / worth reading
4.5: So very close to perfection! / must read
5: I could not put it down and I’m still thinking about it! / a true treasure

Clean--Hallmark movies, some kissing, no nudity, no sex on or off "screen"
PG--Some innuendo but nothing kids don't hear every day, sex is all closed door
PG-13--some language (swear words not related to sex), more talk about sex, heavy petting, removal of clothing on screen, but sex is closed door.
R--swearing (can be related to sex), feels like the whole story is about the sex and not the relationship or some other plot

See those flames on the cover? They're a very accurate description of what you'll find inside this book--flaming hot chemistry. *swoon* I love this author's writing style and how she adds a bit of friction to a great romance.

Caylee is spunky and fun and her sass spills over into all of her personal relationships. She decides from the very beginning that she does not like Levi and boy does she have some fun with him. The barbs and banter emerge from the first encounter and had me smiling and laughing throughout because he can dish it right back. The attraction and wit is so swoony and sizzling--the flames almost jumped off the pages. Good thing there's a fire fighter in the house.

This Lake Powell vacation really brought out the best in both of them and brought to light some secrets that hinder the future from unfolding. From the cool, mountain air of Park City to the boiling hot and gorgeous Lake Powell, I felt like I was along for the ride with the characters. I loved every minute and had a very hard time putting it down.

Content: clean, swoony romance (kissing, mention of attack)

What a great story! Levi and Caylee were both damaged souls. He, from being a military doctor in Afghanistan that sucked his soul and his fun and made him very wary. She, from very hard life experiences that made her hide behind fun and flirty with an absolute refusal for relationship and commitment. It’s fun to watch them open up gradually and bring out the best in each other. Steamy kisses are as far as it goes.

I enjoyed the characters in this book. I liked them even more because I had met them in the previous book that came out before this one which was the siblings of the two characters! Both Levi and Caylee were great people who were trying to deal with emotional stresses in their pasts. I liked going on this journey with them. The main thing you could takeaway from this story was NOT to judge from your first impression of someone which is what both Levi and Caylee did at first. I'm glad they finally got over that!
Enjoyable story and I would recommend it!
