About the Author
Richard L. McBain, 64, was born the middle child of five in a middle class family, who was raised to believe in God, Family, Honor, and Country. He was drafted into the Army in early 1969 while attending college. After his Combat Infantry training, he was assigned to the 101st Airborne Division in Viet Nam, and served with Alpha Company, 2/502nd Infantry in Northern I Corps. He was awarded two Bronze Stars, one with V Device, as well as the Purple Heart, Air Medal, Army Commendation Medal, VNS, VNC, NDS and Good Conduct medals, with a Presidential Unit Citation, and his most prized award, the Combat Infantryman’s Badge. He has been a business executive for over 30 years, a husband to Jackie for 40 years, father to Dan and Mike, and grand-father to Nathan, Cade, Mattie, and Carter. He is the author of two other published books, Itching Ears and Babyboomer Memoirs.
