Nektar's third album truly broke new ground for the band and for rock music in general. Hell, this is one of the first albums EVER to feature a single composition on one side of a vinyl LP, fer cryin' out loud! And what a strange and fascinating trip these sides are. Equally melodic and spacey, RTF delivers some of the most memorable moments in '70s rock. The 2CD digipak is outstanding, feels as heavy and durable as the content! The bonus material is excellent as well - the highly sought after Boston Tapes featuring early studio recordings the band did before tracking a single note of their debut album Journey To the Centre Of The Eye. This is a great set for both collector's and new fans! Highly recommended!

November 1976. In the Army in Oklahoma. Missing my favorite progressive rock band, YES. Another kid in my class had a pretty nice 8-track, Bose headphones (big white padded ones) and ONE tape - Remember the Future. He needed money, I needed music and I got a good deal. I'd never heard of Nektar...

It was pretty good actually. I played it constantly, over and over again. I liked the way it was a bunch of different themes or sections melded into one. The guitar was very clean, as were the vocals. I really liked it after awhile. I even bought the LP when I got home (and I still have it).

I kind of forgot about it until I stumbled upon it on YouTube 40 years later. Then I found this set on Amazon. Driving to work the next morning was great - it brought back a lot of memories. This may sound weird, but its "beautiful". So clean and melodic, and not over done. I'm so glad I purchased this - my life needs this kind of music.

One of my favorite Nektar albums, Remember the Future was first released in late 1973 and tells the story of an alien named Bluebird who makes telepathic contact with a blind boy. The 40th Anniversary version features a bonus disc of goodies including the radio edits as well as as The Boston Tapes recorded in 1970.

Best album ever. Historic in its greatness. Listen to this after 2112 (Rush). Or Song for America (Kansas) or Lorelei ( Styx). It will stand out over them (a little).
