This may well be a good book but she would of had to pay me to finish it, not the other way around! I can usually handle small errors and typos and I'm really not a grammar Nazi either. (I'm not so great with grammar myself so I don't like throwing stones...) I also don't generally factor editing issues into my reviews of novels unless it is really distracting. This book takes the cake with error after error and I just couldn't focus on the content after having to reread sentences that made no sense etc. Please note, it's obvious the author is British. I have no problem with the British spellings, phrases or words such as flat instead of apartment. Those are NOT the issues I'm speaking about.
Constantly using [.....] ALL the time. No periods or commas? Sometimes you would see it seven... or... eight... times... on... one... page! (See how annoying that is?) I did noticed the excessive use in the sample but it became more frequent the further into the book I read.
Constantly using question marks when the character wasn't asking a question but making a statement.
Countless run-on sentences and fragments.
Contraction problems, missing articles as well.
Here are just a few quotes to give you an idea of the quality of writing:
"When he hit me that night it was it for me."
"Perhaps I blamed everyone around me for something that was entirely my fault. I couldn't be sure anymore. Ever since we had finished I was confused. Was it really my fault?Read more ›
Aidan and Bella story was jammed packed with action. You not only had murder, kidnapping, slavery, brutality, rogue cop but two people trying to build a relationship through all the madness.
Bella for someone in her early twenties did not have a total breakdown as a result of all the trauma she experienced.
Aidan had long buried issued. His arrogance and need for justice cost him more than he expected.
How could I forget, the sex scenes were hot
