Fast Fact: Did you know that using a traditional gas-powered lawn mower for an hour produces as much air pollution as a new car driving 350 miles?
Unleash this mighty mower on your lawn and you'll never look back. The Remington Electric Push Mower features a powerful 12-amp motor that is maintenance-free. It never needs gas, oil or tune-ups. Its 19-inch, three-in-one cutting deck gives you the option of mulching, side discharging or rear bagging your grass clippings. The deck can also be raised or lowered to any of six positions with a single height control lever (from 1.23 inches to 3.5 inches).
In addition to no more trips to the gas station, our electric mower makes life simple in other ways, too. To minimize strain on your hands and arms, an ergonomic handle and foam cushion grip absorb vibration. It also features durable 7-inch front and 8-inch rear wheels that help you maneuver over and around objects with ease.
Remington Electric Mower Comparison
Top customer reviews
I fixed the issue myself without the help of Remington.... I guess I won't buy from them again.
The other three wheels appear ok for now, and the mower itself was powerful and convenient but I don't see how I can use this thing with only three wheels. Very disappointed.
Pros: 1) Minimal maintenance (no fuel to store, oil to change, air filters to clean). I just wipe it off at the end of the season. 2) Easy to start and stop (never have to pull a chord again!). 3) Entering a 4th season where I mow the grass every other weekend.
Con: 1) The chord makes you have to plan out how you cut your grass.
LET THE BUYER BEWARE!
I received my mower soon after ordering on June 19, 2014. It is now September 12, 2014. I truly did check the area before mowing but hit one of those metal things near the road where the water turns on. I immediately stopped the mower, unplugged it and saw that the blade had 2 tiny chips. I started up the mower again and began to smell something sweet and then something burning.
Here's what I've learned so far about my Remington Corded Electric Mower...from:
- MTD - the parent company of Remington
- Canopy - the extended warranty people
- 2 of the businesses listed by MTD as local sources for service (all the rest listed are over an hour from my home)
- 2 local mower repair guys
1) Gas mowers turn off when they hit something hard in order to protect things from getting worse. This apparently is not the case with corded electric mowers.
2) If a blade becomes imbalanced and the mower is turned on, the motor might overheat and get damaged.
3) No one, including the first 2 local Authorized Service Centers listed on the MTD website, will repair a Remington Corded Electric Mower.
4) No one near where I live will service electric mowers at all.
5) The Remington warranty does not cover damage from accidentally hitting something hard.
6) The Canopy Protection Plan doesn't cover damage from hitting something hard either and doesn't kick in until after the Remington warranty expires one year from date of purchase.
I bought this mower because I couldn't afford something more expensive and I don't really care for dealing with gas, oil, and fumes. Besides letting the grass grow high until it stops growing this season...I'm not sure what I'll do next. :-(
I DID LIKE IT....
So far, so good. It arrived on time and was easy to assemble the parts, though the drawings could have been clearer. It sounds about as loud as our gas-powered mower did, so I don't think this electric-corded mower is quieter than a gas-powered. My grass had been getting long while I decided on a new mower, but I set the mowing height to the highest setting to begin. It cut just fine, even through the, um, biodiversity of my lawn which includes various weeds. I didn't mind the mower being corded. I quickly found a routine for dealing with the cord. I prefer the cord to having to deal with stinky gas. I got a 100 ft cord and think this will allow me to mow all sections of my lawn, though I haven't gotten to one section where I'll have to bring the cord through some brush. I've used in on about 3 different days and so far I'm satisfied with my purchase
i will keep it as it has all the features i wanted in a mower.thanks don
