My only real negative at this time is it does not have a trimmer which means you will have to use something else for the finishing touches. For me that is a hassle because I have a goatee. It really is a bare minimum shaver. I had a 3 day growth and it handled my tough beard with no problem, with only some minor snagging that was barely noticeable.
The AQ7A is really more for those that shave everything off and don't need any finishing touches and is recommended for those people. For those that need something for finishing touches you will want to skip this.
This is the first wet/dry shaver that I have felt comfortable with actually WET, as it feels nicely sealed, and the rubber grip is superior, giving it a secure feel in my hand. The shave is comfortable and doesn't leave any red, raised or raw feel afterwards. I use gel when wet, as recommended, and it works fast and fluidly. I brought it to Europe for our month-long vacation and my husband and I shared it. His skin felt so soft and kissable afterwards. ☺
This is great for travel, as we only needed to charge it every several days. It lasts about 60 minutes (reportedly) of actual shaving time, but I do like to charge it regularly. It's a nice looking razor, and would also make a lovely gift for that special person in your life.
It certainly functions well enough as a razor, producing a close shave and leaving the skin smooth and unabraded. Shaving with a rotary razor requires a different technique than with other types—go over the same area several times in little circles and pull the skin taut if there are tight curves or wrinkles. Only minimal pressure is required and there is no pulling or pain. The blades don't touch the skin so they don't scrape it and the likelihood of ingrown hairs is reduced. Being able to use this shaver in the shower with shaving gel is a major advantage.
The redesigned handle is significantly less bulky and fits very comfortably in the hand. The cobalt-blue soft touch plastic has a nice feel and combined with the well-placed ridges, gives a good grip when used in the shower. The scalloped base hints that this version can be used in the shower and rinsed for cleaning although it shouldn't be submerged in water. The overall appearance is attractive.
The button that opens the blade compartment has been redesigned so that it is less likely to be pressed accidentally. The blades and the blade mechanism are the same and although they require some care in cleaning and are expensive to replace, they last a long time.
The battery charges quickly and the motor isn't noisy. It comes with a recharging stand with a non-slip base which is handy because the shaver just slips right in and stays charged rather than requiring that the plug be manually inserted in the base for recharging.Read more ›
It is odd, but I have always used a Norelco razor as my primary with a Remington as a back-up ... so I could not resist trying this newest Remington. As can be seen, it is a dry-or-wet razor, meaning if you like you can take it into the shower with you. Very good, just like my Norelco.
Now a few words of caution: the Remington, even if you decide to stand in the bathroom, works best with some sort of shaving gel. That's what the trade dress says. My Norelco requires no such thing, though the quality of the shave from these contraptions is far below good old soap-and-razor. For the quick elimination of five-o'clock-shadow, it's grand.
The Remington tends to nip at dry skin - hence the admonishment to use it with a shaving gel, I suppose. But then, what is the use of having a cordless razor like this? After all, you'd have this in the office, or someplace at home near the door in case you forgot to shave and have a second to touch up the old mug before you leave. You're supposed to have gel handy to be able to do that?
I think not.
At all events, this is a reliable back-up razor. It takes 90 minutes to recharge for a full 60 minutes'-worth of shave time, as opposed to the Norelco which requires 8 hours. All in all I'd say Norelco is a pain in the tuchus but it still exceeds this Remington, thus I recommend it as a back-up razor.

I would not buy this again. Gives a poor shave even using Shave Secret or just wetting my face. I have a medium beard and I have to keep going over areas. Would not recommend.Published 19 days ago by David A Colasante
It doesn't provide the close shave that a razor does - becomes stubbly after only 6 hours. would have returned it but threw out the packaging.Published 2 months ago by james h laasch
You get what you pay for. It is worth the amount you pay not outstanding. Would not buy againPublished 6 months ago by Karen Downing
