Thanks to Kaira Rouda, I will be exhausted tomorrow. But City of Love was such a well-written sweet little novella, I simply: Could. Not. Put. It. Down. I fell in love quickly with small-town Charlotte & the handsome chef she meets, Hale, while in the city for a quick trip. Some may question whether things could fall into place so easily, but that's the whole point, the beauty, the magic of love at first sight. Despite an accelerated timeline, their story never felt forced, rushed, or unbelievable. I loved Hale's confidence in his feelings for her right away. And I loved watching Charlotte progress from controlled daughter to independent woman listening to her own heart. In such a short novella, Kaira did a fantastic job at character development, scene setting, and helping the reader fall hopelessly in love with Charlotte and Hale too. The intimate scenes were hot, and the sweet scenes were moving. What more could you ask for in an upbeat, fast-paced romance novella? I'm a believer in the City of Love.

Charlotte is so much more than a pretty face. Why can't anyone understand that?
Hale leads a life that is hectic and unsatisfying. He has a job he loves but a boss he hates and his brightest moments are spent watching a woman who doesn't know he exists. I received an ARC of City of Love in exchange for an honest review. There is a wistful quality to this read. Hale and Charlotte were living their dream careers in the big city but are not happy. They want more than just work and adoration from their peers.
City of Love is a story about making the choice that is right for you when others don't agree. Lovely story.

If you're in the mood for an insta-love or love at first sight or HEA kind of romance...City of Love by Kaira Rounda is perfect for you.

So what happens when you're stuck in a position you don't want to be in? A place where you are not truly happy. Charlotte Taylor, a model from Atlanta, flies to NYC for a chance to sign with one of the top modeling agencies in the country. Only problem...it's not her dream, but her mother's. Hale Scott, the head chef of NYC's trendiest restaurant PRIME, cooking for the rich and famous. Only problem...he hates the person he works for. But when they set eyes on each other for one night...it's the night that will change their lives.

Thoughts:

PLOT LINE - This probably sounds cliche but the novella is short, sweet, and to the point! The story revolves around one night. A night filled with adventure, steamy glances, sexy moves, and taking leaps. A lot can happen in one night...can you fall in love along the way? Of course. If it's meant to be...it's meant to be. The story does flow pretty well and at a quick pace. If I was given a full book of their story, I will probably love it more. But when I'm in the mood for a quick romance, this fits the bill. With the dual POV, you'll get to see both sides of the story! Then you can tell when one person is invested in the relationship more than the other. I just love it when they wait for the other to catch up in that department. I think this story does a great job with it. Can you guess who might fall in love first? ;)

CHEMISTRY - From the moment they met, Hale Scott has a way with words. With the initial meeting, I love how Charlotte finds a way to get him to talk to her. It's actually pretty sweet and once he came over....you will prob die from his hotness.

City of Love by Kaira Rouda is a novella in Melissa Foster’s The Remington’s Kindle World latest releases. We begin this story with a despondent Charlotte Taylor, in New York to sign a contract with one of the country’s biggest modeling agents. Charlotte is a beautiful young lady who is living her life as her mother, a frustrated want-to-be model and Broadway star, dictates. She has decided that is the life Charlotte must live. Charlotte has no desire to live that life but has yet to find the backbone to stand up for herself. Hale Scott is a New York chef extraordinaire who is unhappy with his job because of his overbearing restaurant manager.

This is a strangers meet, fall in love at first sight, story. The two meet after Charlotte leaves a meet and greet and finds herself in Hale’s restaurant. Charlotte has decided it was time to stand up to her mother. Hale quits his job after being mistreated one time too many by his manager. I enjoyed the way the two handle discovering how much they have in common and how natural being together felt.

I highly recommend this book to all readers. The characters were well written and complex. The plot was riveting and kept my attention to the very end.

I received an ARC of this book in exchange for a fair and honest review.

Charlotte is living a life that she does not want; she is living the life her mother always wanted.
Charlotte has been part of pageants, modeling and a career in Marketing; all she wants is to live on a beach, painting with watercolors and running a small store catering to art.
Charlotte finds herself in New York to meet and sign a contract for a 1 year modeling career with a big firm. Charlotte is dreading signing the papers and being locked into a life she does not want.
Charlotte takes a leap and walks out of a gathering for the agency and finds herself free, free at last.
Charlotte walks to a restaurant where she is instantly attracted to the handsome chef, Hale Scott.
They cannot keep their eyes off each other and a bold move for Charlotte she asks to have the Chef suggest something special for dinner.
Hale approaches Charlottes table to offer her meal selection, making a bold move for and ask Charlotte on a date after his shift is over. Charlotte agrees and waits for Hale. Hale quits his job, using his new found freedom to make the most of his time with Charlotte.
A world wind 24 hours turns into a weekend and more.
What will the future hold for Charlotte and Hale?
Wow what a steamy romance these two have. Most definitely a must read by Kaira Rouda in my opinion, a nice light hearted HEA read.
