Even though I wasn't familiar with the "Kindle World" it was from, this is an author I like and I enjoyed Emma and Jesse's story. I have to say Emma's father was a piece of work. I loved it when she stood up to him.
After eight years of heart ache and pain and moving across the country Emma school had a group of pro athletes come and talk about the importance of staying in school and Jesse happened to be one of the many athletes that was part of the assembly. Seeing each other again brought on a gamete of emotions that neither was wanting to deal with.
What will this mean for them? Will Emma and Jesse be able to work out their anger and pain? Or will they walk away and continue on living like the other doesn't exist?
The story is about Jesse Turner football star and Emma Worthington a teacher (they used to be married, briefly). After running into each other at her school in Dallas they meet up to "talk" about what happened and what they thought happened is wrong. It's got lots of great moments, have some tissues handy. I loved this couple.
I received an ARC for my honest review.
I received a complimentary copy of this book in exchange for an honest review.
I loved this book! 5 STARS!
J.T. And Emma! What a wonderful couple. They feel in love and married in college. They were torn apart but are drawn back together. I just adore a 2nd chance love story! I'm not going to spoil the story but it is well worth the purchase. This was an easy & quick read.
I received this wonderful book in exchange for my honest opinion. My honest opinion is to buy the book. You won't regret it! Thanks for the ARC!
Jesse and Emma found their soul mates in one another in college. They thought they would be together for ever. What neither of them counted on was the one man who could manipulate them apart after only being married a month.
Eight years later, both Emma and Jesse are struggling in their personal lives. They are still harboring feelings of anger and misunderstanding; questions as to why they were not good enough for the other; what happened to end something so special after only a month that Emma disappeared and Jesse entered the NFL.
By a fluke, Emma and Jesse reconnect and are clearly shocked, angry and bitter...and don't even know how to communicate with one another. In time, they slowly work up to being "friends." But the big question is still out there for both of them. Why did she want an annulment. Why did he want an annulment. They both believe the other instigated the annulment and never told the other why. Instead, both were approached by...her father.
Once the truth comes out, and her father is confronted, Emma and Jesse realize their present and future lies with the one another and that they had never stopped loving each other.
"Could This Be Love" is a well written and lighthearted novella. It is an enjoyable read with wonderful characters and a good storyline. Kathy Ivan brings her characters alive making the novella more realistic and interesting than the lost love, found love, will it last love storyline. Her characters are honest in their behavior, actions, and feelings allowing the reader to truly become engaged in the storylines.
A great beach, cold or rainy day read that the reader will enjoy. A definite feel-good novella.
Jesse Turner an Emma Worthington meet at college an fall in love. They elope but their marriage doesn't last long. Circumstances beyond their control interfere.
Jesse is just a young man from Texas not wealthy, he's in school on football scholarships.
Emma is from a very prominent family with big money. But money doesn't matter to Emma she loves Jesse as he is.
Someone who thought was doing right thing stepped in an ruined what they had. Lies an more lies.
Jesse left college went he got drafted to play for Miami. He got hurt an thought he would never play again. He comes back home to Dallas to do his therapy an get better.
Emma left college in NC an went to NY to finish.
She got a job teaching eight an nine years old at school in Dallas. Who would have thought with millions of people in Dallas they would Meer again after eight years.
They both have unanswered questions to what happened to their marriage. They both know they still have feelings for each other.
A love like theirs just doesn't die. I believe if two people love each other as they did an still do, this second chance at happiness is right for them.
Their sexual chemistry is off the charts.
They finally get to have their long awaited talk an oh my heavens you won't believe what they not only tell each other but what they do about this information. Neither can believe how someone cold be so cruel as to separate them through lies.
You have to get this book an read who messed up their lives eight years ago.
