Crazy Love is a novella that branches off the Love in Bloom series by Melissa Foster, specifically Game of Love. There are slight appearance from familiar characters which is so much fun. It is great to see what old favorites are up to. Know that you do not have to be familiar at all with Melissa Foster’s series. This is a standalone book and really has no deep ties to the Remington’s other than their cameos.
While it is great to see old favorites I really loved the new ones. The band mates, the siblings, the families, the friends, and, of course, Kennedy and Dante all became my friends by the time I finished the book. Kennedy and Dante are the main characters but the secondary characters really made the story. Dante’s band mates keep him in line, don’t let him lose his way, and support him no matter what is going on. Kennedy’s brother, Simon, and her co-worker, Jim, are the stable ones in her life. They help her fight the battle against addiction and send her on the path to a happy life.
Crazy Love is not a long book, it is a novella. While there are not a lot of pages to read there is a lot of story to enjoy. Within these pages you have addiction, love, family dynamics, corruption, and a happy ever after. I am thrilled that I got the opportunity to read Calinda B.’s book and look forward to checking out more of the Remington’s Kindle World books.
This was such a great story with characters that had many real world issues. Both are more damaged and flawed when their paths meet again about a decade after high school graduation. Dante and Kennedy spent graduation night together getting to know one another and then vanished from each others lives. The recognition is instant once their eyes meet over a tiger's pen. Kennedy "speaks" to the large cats and manages to retreat from the pen unharmed physically (after a tiger is unexpectedly released), but mentally and emotionally rattled. she's had a rough past couple of years. Kennedy is in recovery from both alcohol and pills. She has a great support system in place. She also has an issue with wealth to some degree as well as being in the spotlight. Dante's loaded and also happens to be a rock star on the verge of super stardom. Their first date ends up being accosted by not only fans, but also paparazzi - landing them on Page Six. While trying to show the man behind the rock star, he realizes that he's not exactly sure who that is anymore. After an unbelievable tragedy a couple years ago, he's quite suspicious of many. And while keeping secrets and burdens that aren't really his to keep, he's been worn down by life. In attempting to start a relationship, Dante makes a few colossal (but expected) mistakes and Kennedy runs from him in an effort to protect herself. Every time you think that they might have a chance, something sneaks up and throws the reader for a loop.
One of the things I loved about this story was the growth of each character and Calinda having the AA/NA meetings as well as Kennedy's sponsor so visible as it's an ongoing and vital part for anyone in recovery. Another was Damien (Dante's brother). Damien is high functioning but had developmental difficulties due to having his oxygen supply cut off for a period during birth. Damien's well loved and an integral part of Dante's life.
The secondary characters in this book are just as endearing as the primary H and h. I'm not sure that this book could have been written any better. This was a journey I enjoyed taking with characters that will stick with me for a while.
I received an ARC in exchange for an honest review.

Series) by Calinda B
I have never read a novel by this author, but after reading "Crazy Love," that will definitely change.
Let me preface this by admitting I am a bit sleep deprived as o literally stayed up all night reading; I just couldn't put this novella down.
The author has developed such strong and wonderful characters. They are flawed and human and each have their own ghosts and tragedies of the past to work through in order to truly start fresh and new with one another.
The storyline is interesting, multi-focused and multifaceted. It is so well written that the reader can follow the complicated plot lines and character roles very easily. Yet remain so engaged in the storyline nothing gets missed.
With "Crazy Love," Calinda B has truly taken the reader by storm and never lets them go until the very last word has been read.
Not just a should read, but a read now.
