Colleen has managed to write a really sweet, enjoyable read - with a bit of heat -that encompasses spiritual healing, Reiki, and Guardian Angels. I feel that we all have an angel(s) watching over us, and have even had an unexplained white feather, with a small brown marking on it, float down in front of me a few months ago.
This book features Sage Remington, his partner Kate, and her friend and PR whizz Luce (from Melissa Foster's Stroke of Love).
Celeste is an artist, and spiritual healer, who has fled the city to start a new life and wellness centre in North Carolina. She asks Kate for advice on finding a PR person to arrange the opening party, and Kate puts her onto Luce.
Egan is a good friend (with benefits) of Luce, but has had a hard time of it over the past two years.
His younger brother and father died, and his mom isn't coping too well, and has some health issues too. His depression has meant that he's dropped the ball at work, so his boss tells him to take 6 weeks leave. The day after drowning his sorrows with Luce, she arrives on his doorstep and insists that he goes with her on a road trip from New York to NC.
Luce thinks the break from the city and all his worries will help lift his depression, but she notices that when Celeste and Egan first meet, there is an instant attraction between them.
When Luce goes back to NY, Egan stays behind to help Celeste, and they become close as they get to know one another.
There is upset and heartache in both their pasts, but they work through all the angst, even battling some danger at one point, and we get a sweet HEA.
The descriptions in this book of the Wellness Centre, the grounds, and Celeste's sculpture were all mesmerising, and I found it a thoroughly enjoyable read.
I just finished this novella. One I couldn't put down. Initially the cover pulled me In and made it a book I definitely wanted to read. Then the description just up'd the anti, so to speak. So I already had some personal high expectations about this novella. (A lot of unknown pressure for the author.)
So I started "Faith in Love" and...wow!! It
Definitely didn't disappoint. It is fun and heartwarming and full of faith and connection and finding love when you least expect it and just a truly feel good novella.
I can completely relate to Celeste, the female main character. I love the center she is opening and all her ideas for her land and just the premise of Tranquility, her healing and wellness center. She is me in another life.
Egan, the male main character, is so flawed and lost after the death of his brother and father. Yet he begins to heal and find his way while helping Celeste prepare for her grand opening of the center. He learns to slow down, to open up, and to begin to be at peace within himself, with nature, and Celeste.
The author reminds us that healing can occur in so many different ways and places, that there are healing "powers" in all almost all things and that love often arises when one least expects it and not always at a time that is most convenient.
A truly wonderful, can't put down, and very special novella no reader should miss. A truly being a smile to your face and love in your heart read (and re-read).
