Kerry is literally licking her wounds from a terrifying encounter with a shark. As a top surfing champion, she is trying to talk herself back into the water to continue on her surfing tour, but her fear is holding her captive and her heart just isn’t in the water anymore. Taking some time to herself is sure to help her find her courage and fan the flames of her surfing passion. Luckily, her friend has a quiet, secluded place where she can relax and refocus her life. Things are looking up, and she can’t get there fast enough. Finn is taking some much overdue R&R from his latest deployment. He still hasn’t kept his promise to his fallen buddy, and he is determined to find the best resting place ever for his best friend. His long-time friend Dex has loaned him use of his cottage during his time off which sounds like paradise to him. He can’t wait to relax and unwind.Read more ›
Rachelle takes you on a loving journey of two souls who are in need. And she doesn't dissapoint. I finished this book with a goofy smile on my face. You may think, ooh this'll just be another predictable love story, but believe me, it's not. Just when you think you know what's about to happen, boom, it changes course on you. Give it a shot! I'm sure you'll enjoy it!
Rachelle's writing is so easy to read. The words just roll of the pages. I love finding new authors that can reel me in, and she's one of those. Any author who uses the phrase "no pun intended", gets two thumbs up from me.
"Leap, Laugh, Love," is one of several novellas which are a part of the Remington series by Melissa Foster. After her initial five books in the series, there are an additional right novellas written by eight different authors. This is one of the eight.
My first impression after reading this story was: Amazing!! This is the first book by this author I have read and it definitely will NOT be the last. Rachelle Ayala's novella had me hooked from the first sentence. What I wasn't prepared for or expecting, was the truly visceral way in which her writing would affect me.
The characters are lonely, emotionally hurt, and mentally struggling to work through their own personal traumas. There is attraction between the two from the beginning. While initially it appears that this attraction is more physical than anything else, what the reader begins to understand pretty quickly is that deep down, both Finn and Kerry have been able to have casual relationships and even once felt that they had been in a serious relationship, but until they meet one another, they both realize in their own way and in their own time that this is neither a casual relationship but one where they both care and love with their heart. That casual is not something that works for them because they both care deeply about the other. They are able to express their feelings and fears and issues with one another openly and honestly and with deep emotion.
Finn realizes quickly that Kerry is the woman he was meant to spend the rest of his life with and does everything he can to make special plans for them and is very gentlemanly.Read more ›
