I received this car key spy camera yesterday so no much time to know everything about it, but first thing I could say about it is that the video output is very good totally hd 1080p resolution, at night with normal light the video quality is good also......but 2 things that kill this camera is the red light blinking all the time in video recording mode, and that will be ok if after 1 hour of video recording the battery wouldnt die with a big buzzzing (loud vibration alert) ...and thats a no no for I want to use it...I tried it in motion detection to see if the battery lasted longer but still the batery dies after 1 hour just the same but with 3 minutes videos loops.

The manufacturer's idea of Full HD 1080P and mine are quite different. Normally, Full HD 1080P is not grainy and lacking in high definition. Battery life is around an hour at best. It's a neat novelty and I didn't have any issues getting it to connect to the computer or transferring videos, but the actual performance is not quite as advertised.

This unit has very good quality video. Practice a bit to master the feel of the vibration indicators so you are comfortable you are actually recording when you need to be. There are instructions for programming the date/time stamp. Once you figure it out is a valuable tool for surveillance work.

This keycam is far superior to the plastic ones I have purchased in the past. Made of metal so it has some weight to it, helps with stable video and is easy to operate, and video quality met my expectations for the price.

Like any Li-Ion, battery will be poor at first. You need to fully charge and FULLY discharge many many many times and then it gets much better over time. I have 6 now and average battery life is 80min or so or 45 to 55min with IR on. IR is now in B&W and is EXCELENT at close to 2 feet range. YOU CAN SEE THROUGH SOME CLOTHING WITH THIS NO JOKE in pitch blackness. For its size and price there is NOTHING out there than can even come close! Get a 32gig SanDisk Ultra Class 10 and be carefull installing it, it will go in crooked if you miss the actual sd card holder on the main board. I recommend opening it up and cutting the lead to the flashing led to increase battery life. Also disable the middle button somehow. Learn the buzz codes with buttons 1 and 3 top to bottom, (its simple, turn on, start, pause, unpause, turn off for button 1 and IR on or off for button 3). Button 2 changes modes and you don't need it. Is NOT waterproof but very easy to make paint proof. Put keychain ring on end then put cam in small clear sandwich bag. Pull tightly over camera end and wrap keychain end with rubber band tightly. Cut excess bag off and your good for a paint party. Fully recharges in 1hr 45min via cell charger from dead. 32gig card good for app 3.8 charges before its full. About my 6, more = more record time, also keep a lipstick sized usb portable charger on hand. You CANNOT fast charge this thing, it will limit its own charge rate resulting in app 1hr 45min charge time. Loose the plastic side strip and use black tape instead to hide sd card, charge port and led.

Seems very well made. The ONLY downside that I can mention is that the instructions are somewhat vague. I have never understood why Chinese manufacturers can't hire someone whose FIRST language is English just to review instruction manuals. I mean really... how much could that cost?

Made a poor decision to buy this. It looked good, but the stars tell you the truth.
Conclusion: Don't buy this unit if you are looking for motion detection while plugged in to the usb or power outlet. This unit does not have motion detection while it is plugged in to the usb or power outlet. It only has motion detection when it is unplugged.
The video picture is great however. If you just need the basic stop / record function for only about 40 minutes, then this will work for you.

Here are the functions, which took me 3 hrs to figure out. The MANUAL is useless, and made no sense.

UNWIRED (UNPLUGGED FROM CHARGER)
===============================
Mode 1: red light is steady = on standby and ready to video record mode (when recording, red light will keep flashing)

Mode 2: blue light is steady = photography mode (press OK button to take photo)

Mode 3: red and blue lit up at same time = sound recording mode (when recording, the blue will be steady, and red will blink).

Mode 4: alternating blue and red = motion detection mode (upon switching to this mode, recording will automatically start and will record any motion detected. during this time, the lights will alternate between blue and red).

WIRED (PLUGGED INTO CHARGER)
============================
Continuous Recording Mode: Press and hold "lock" button, then press "unlock" button to start recording. Red light will start blinking which means it's recording. Motion detection does not work while the unit is plugged in to the usb or power outlet. Get a digital clock camera if you want a reliable surveillance unit with motion detection and continous power.

Great camera for the money. Picture is much clearer than other cheaper spy cameras out there. Instructions are not easy to read and understand though as it is written in broken english, however it was easy to figure out the functions of the camera just by playing around with it a little bit. Night vision is not that great but what do you expect from a $40 camera from China. All features work as advertised. Motion detection on this unit works great. One note, this camera does not have any internal memory built in, so you would need to install a class 6 or 10 micro SD card into the slot before using. In fact, this camera will not function at all without a micro SD card installed. I can't comment on the battery life as I have not used it for extended periods of time yet.

- Potato Quality Video Recording
- Microphone for audio recording is housed internally within the device so don't expect to hear anything
- Motion Detection mode auto shuts down after 15 which defeats the purpose of that mode
- Device will break if dropped from a height of 3 feet
