About Renee Darcy
Renee Darcy has been a professional writer for more than a decade, but America's Favorite Couple is her first romance novel. Her chosen nom de plume honors her family history and her favorite literary work.
When she’s not writing, she enjoys spending time with her husband and two dogs in beautiful New England. Reality TV shows are a guilty pleasure, and the inspiration behind her new romance book series - Reality TV Romance.
It all starts out harmless enough. First, looking back at Hurricane Katrina and Superstorm Sandy, she wants a small emergency supply of food and water on hand. Then, fearing a winter power outage that could leave her family without heat, she starts thinking about a generator. Her husband starts to find her escalating fears - and her strange behavior - unreasonable. He draws a line, so Della continues her preparations - in secret.
She only wants to take care of the people she loves. She plans to reveal everything at the perfect moment. Her husband, alarmed by her changing habits, suggests marriage counseling. Her relationship slowly starts to unravel as she focuses more on their protection, and less on what it actually takes to keep her family together.
When the unexpected happens, though, Della finds out what she’ll really do to protect the people she loves.
Bright Little Light Press says:
Della’s Diary humanizes the sometimes crazy-seeming extremes of the ‘prepper’ lifestyle. Della herself is an engaging, interesting character, and you find yourself rooting for her and even understanding her descent into prepper-dom.
“This book has a lot of layers. Introspection. Political awareness. Romance. Humor. Just when you think you’ve got it pinned down, it surprises you with something new.”
“I totally wasn’t expecting the direction the book took, but Della is a relatable and compelling character.”
“Della is just like a friend of mine, if that friend was maybe a little too concerned about improbable things happening. I love how she feels like a real person, like someone I know.”
“The ending was awesome!"
For nearly a decade, Casey has pined over “the one that got away.” She decides to take a chance and join a reality TV show where fifteen men and fifteen women - some of them single parents - gather together in a mansion to look for love.
To Casey’s surprise, “the one that got away” turns up as another participant on the show. To raise the stakes, the show’s producers bring back another old flame - and the potential father of her child. Then there’s the fact that Casey finds herself very attracted to one of the single dads.
Will Casey find love on a reality TV show? Will the producers let her relationships play out naturally - or will their manipulation cost Casey her one chance at true love? And will she and a handsome suitor be voted America’s Favorite Couple?
A humorous romp through the unreality of reality TV – but who expected to find an actual love story?
