Soft medicine balls offer less chance of injury while being caught, whether they're used as wall balls or thrown and caught like traditional medicine balls. What makes our soft medicine balls different? Beautiful color coding with bright, vibrant colors make them stand out at the gym. The stitched logo and weight markings add a lot to the visual appeal as well. Our balls are also extremely well-balanced due to superior internal construction methods.
No matter your size or skill level, medicine ball training is one of the easier ways to improve your endurance, explosiveness, and core strength. Use them for anything from wall ball throws to traditional trunk twists, squats, sit-ups, presses, and more. The 'Wall Ball' is a high intensity exercise used in Cross-Training, personal training, MMA training, as well as group fitness classes. Proper form for Wall ball: Holding a medicine ball below the chin while facing a wall at arms length, the athlete squats (hips below knees) and stands, throwing the medicine ball in order to make contact with an overhead target on the wall. (These medicine balls are not meant to be slammed in any way. Check out our slam balls for those!)

One of my biggest concerns was which weight to get. Doing an online search, I found recommendations of 10 lbs for females and 20 lbs for males. Obviously, one's physical condition is a more important factor. I have shoulder issues and I also wanted my teenage children to use one, so I got the 10 and 14. I thought I was in decent shape, but the 14 is actually a bit of a strain on my shoulders at this time. The 10 works good at this point. But the 10 seems a bit much for my scrawny teens to start with, so I'll probably order a 6 for them. If you're new to these, you might want to check them out at a gym or local store before ordering. That way you'll be more likely to get the proper weight to start with.
A few reviewers mentioned the smell of the balls. My 10 lb ball had no noticeable odor, but the 14 lb ball has a strong chemical scent. I expect the smell to leave in time, so it's not a big issue.
All in all, I'm happy with the purchase. I was tempted to go with cheaper options, but I might have ended up regretting that. I've learned that it's best to pay more for better quality. From my understanding, Rogue balls are better, but they were significantly more expensive. I take good care of my equipment and the reviews are pretty good on the Rep brand. Again, time will tell.
The ball is quality, and the stitched logo and weight are a nice touch. The CrossFit gym I went to had some that were labeled and just wore away. The stitching is really nice and double stitched. The ball is really well balanced and the weight is centered too.
If you're looking for some awesome gear, Rep Fitness has some of the best staff in Colorado, and always really helpful when I contact them with questions, and this ball is awesome! Thanks again Rep Fitness :)
