My recent purchase of the Lafuma Replacement Lacese was a life saving replacement part for my favorite zero gravity recliner.

I was about to trash the recliner after my huge neighbor sat in it and ripped the cords from one side of the chair. However, the grommets were still intact.

After receiving a patio alert from amazon, I was amazed to find such a part could be available. I installed the replacement in 10 minutes. I am sure the replacement will give me a few more summer set downs.

Who knew Amazon had it like that!

As expected, these replacement cords are perfect for the job. My chair feels like new again.
One note: When installing, you'll probably get 3/4 the way done and swear that they sent cords that are too short. Make sure that you "snug up" the lacing and keep it really taught to provide the needed length to complete the job. Once all done things fall perfectly into place.

I've had my RX La Fuma chairs for about 10 years and I love them so when the laces finally start to give out I checked on Amazon for some replacements.
I ordered the laces that said they were for the RSX and the RSX XL, but when I started to replace the laces I found they were too short.

My wife and I decided to do a chair each at the same time. I took each lace off and replaced it so that I could use the others for reference to make sure I was doing it right. It's actually quite simple once you get started but on the first one I could see I was going to run out of lace. So instead of double stringing in the critical areas like the middle and bottom of the seat I just had to single string it almost all of the way.
Even single stringing it was very difficult it was so short, I had to pull very hard to get enough lace to get to the end of the run so now I have a chair that is so tight it is like sitting on a board and has caused the folding action of the chair to be stiff. I had to stretch all of the elasticity out of the laces to make them fit so I don't think that these laces will last a tenth of the time that the original laces did.
My wife could not pull hard enough of the laces on the chair she was working on to get them to fit so I had to do both chairs.

After reading the other reviews I was a little nervous about ordering these laces. I printed out the instructions and found them kind of confusing. What made them very easy to use was not pulling the old laces out all at once, but as I went along. By leaving the old laces in for the most part, only taking out the area I was replacing, I found my work area held up for easy access. In this way I had the other side factory threaded as a guide to follow when I had questions. I had four chairs to re-lace after one of the old laces broke. It was really easy to do all four this way.

First the good. They are thicker and stronger than the originals. My chairs are ten years old now and the laces are giving up and snapping so something had to be done. I had read some other reviews of these being too short, but what are you going to do. The short thing and complaints probably have something to do with Lafuma discontinuing them. Lets hope they come out with a better lace replacement.

Ok got them on. I have very strong hands and it took some serious power to do the ends because yes they are way too short. Now that they are on, they are soooo tight that the laces are pulling the chair frame in towards the mesh. What that does is warp the chair smaller so that it no longer glides smoothly in the reclining guides of the base frame. The laces are elastic but they are stretched so tight it is like rope. There is little to no flex. It would seem that you would almost be better off just buying some paracord and using that and saving some bucks.

Here is my advice. Get any other manufactures laces and use them. If they are too long just do some double weave at the end or where needed and it will be more than acceptable. if they are too short, congratulations you have laces just like genuine Lafuma laces.

Here are some that will work and I will be purchasing for my second Lafuma chair that needs redone.

Hope this helps

These laces appear very strong, but were not easy to work with. Two hours to re-lace chair. My original laces only lasted 4 months! Hope these do better. This chair has always been used inside, with no weather exposure. But I must say, I love the chair, great back support, so comfortable. I have a $1600 zero gravity chair, and this is just as comfortable! Even better now that I've re-laced the chair with the new laces! (I doubled-up on the bottom and kept the original back laces which saw no signs of wear.)

My lawn chairs began to feel like hammocks and I was about to throw them out when I found this product. I read several reviews by people who complained that they didn't fit and I was hesitant to drop 40 bucks on new laces. But I looked at my chairs and saw the brand name, "Lafuma" stamped on the arms of the chairs. These laces seemed to be original equipment for Lafuma brand and they were easy to install. They have restored my chairs to "like new" condition.
