All functions work great. By the way, I have a 2010 Ford Fusion SEL. Bought it used so I only had 1 key. Now I have 2. Next up is a remote start from my local auto electronics shop. Ford quoted me $600-$650... The shop says $250 for the part and $317 total out the door. Don't be a sucker if you need another key for your car. Buy this one and don't let those sleazy Ford service guys take your hard earned money.
I ordered two keys and they only sent one key. For that reason alone I cannot leave a higher feedback rating than fair or ok. You expect to receive what you order. Secondly, one of the remotes did not work so they had to send out a new one. With the two mistakes they made it cost me another week without access to my car.
Overall it was a bit of a hassle but I now have two working keys and remotes and saved approximately $200 from ordering them from the dealership. Also, shop around at different dealers or locksmiths on the rate they charge to cut and program the key(s). Prices ranged from $55 to $130 for both keys. The remote programming can be done by yourself with the provided instuctions but the dealership will also provide this service if they do the key cutting for you.
Don't be put off by the programming, the directions are straight forward. Programming the remote lock/ unlock buttons took about 2 min. However, be aware that you need (2) other ignition keys to program the transponder (Fords PAT system; it's what allows the key to actually start the vehicle). If you currently only have one key (as in you lost a key and are buying this for a replacement) you will still have to go to a dealer... and its entirely up to the individual dealer whether they're willing to program an aftermarket key... I was fortunate enough to have 2 other keys.
Note that you have perform two separate programming procedures. One for the ignition portion (PATS, two existing keys required for self-program) and one for the "remote" function (only one key/remote required).
Build quality is very reasonable for the price (purchased from: 5starsolutions) and will serve well.
This is on a 2010 Ford Fusion so the trunk button does nothing as the original does not have one.
