I replaced my right Joy-Con with it with fairly low difficulty. Made sure everything including the ribbon cables were properly installed and locked into place.
The stick worked great! For approximately one day. Then it started drifting after waking the Switch up from sleep mode, even worse than the stick I replaced. After taking it apart and double checking all the connections, the stick now wouldn’t work at all, save for an occasional, albeit unintentional movement to the right. Needless to say, I didn’t even bother with the left Joy-Con.
Also the tri-point screwdriver has an ~incredibly~ sharp tip that damaged at least one of the screws and made it impossible to get back in all the way.
Don’t know if I did something wrong or if the stick was defective but take this as a cautionary tale if you decide to do it yourself.
