I have been a fan or Beegie Adair for some years now. She occupies a place that is, for me, the perfect blend of melody, accessibility, and just enough jazz improvisation to suit my tastes. She pretty much sticks to the Great American Song Book material (the "jazz standards") which is my preferred genre. I knew I'd love it before I even heard it.
