THINK before you buy!!! An average data recovery cost is around $2500 from professionals. THINK about this people, in the fine print, they have the obligation at THEIR convenience to tell you that they may not can recover your data due to the ability or not they have to recover it. If the motor dies, they will refund your $9.99 I promise you. They will not attempt to replace the motor to get your data, as it would cost them too much to do so. Professionals who do this have diagnostics for thousands of models of hard drives, and they may have to replace transistors, bearings, etc to get data off a mechanical drive. That is why professionals charge ~ $2500+ . They know how to do it, and can do it. It boils down to this...... I could throw a tent up in my backyard with a PC in it, behind my house, and offer the same warranty, and I would be legally fine. I don't have the equipment to recover your data,.. which lets me off the hook according to the very contract you didn't fully read. I will then give back you $9.99 ( without the interest I have earned on it ), claiming that, with my facilities, the data is unrecoverable. NO PROFESSIONAL company would offer this guarantee, when the average data recovery actually does consist of approximately $2500 labor and equipment usage. They offer this at such a low price, for those cases where the hard drive is functional, but just needs the data hijacked off it. Something you can do on your own. If the drive fails due to a mechanical reason, it is cheaper for them to exercize the fine print and tell you it cannot be recovered. Stay away from this offer. Looks good on paper, until you read the fine print which is at their discretion.
