I know Maggie's daughter, seriously, I work with her. She has struggled with her mom's new love, as does Maggie's daughter in Reservations for Two. I've sat with my friend and listened to her talk about her dad and how much she misses him and I hear anger at her mom's new love, I've helped dry her tears.
Carson's daughter, Maggie's daughter and son, the grandchildren, they all play a part in Maggie and Carson's story. This is a romance, but it's also a story about healing, family and friends. I loved it!
By the last page I was in tears, because I didn't want the book to end! I didn't want to say goodbye to Maggie, Carson and their families and friends. Anne, any chance of a series based around the inn?
This sweet romance has so much more. Not just family and friends reactions to the match but a surprising twist or two. I loved the clever way the author fooled me. I expect a twist in the plot at one point that didn’t come then she totally surprised me when a disaster hit in a surprising time.
As odd as it sounds this book made me appreciate my hubby of over 40 years more than ever.
It was difficult to believe that all the characters could get along with each other so well without getting on each other's nerves while living in such close proximity, sharing a house with other family members and living temporarily in a motor home in a parking lot.
What 62-year old woman can survive a fall onto the sidewalk from roller blades and not be sore but instead be ready for more exercise right away? How can this same woman have the energy to walk a mile and a half to a store with four children after being deprived of sleep?
Still, even though the characters were just too good to be true, it was refreshing to read a book that contained no profanity and had characters who proclaimed a desire to be good Christians by helping others.
