From the Author
Audrey's Hypothyroidism'sJourney
After being diagnosed with hypothyroidism over 10 years ago. I knew, there was something more than just being labeled with a medical condition. There wasn't a lot of information on how to heal myself from the inside out. Google, Amazon orFacebook wasn't invented yet. I decided to give myself permission, on this road of life that I've traveling so blindly. I soon realize that I am responsibility for my own life. I can't sit around waiting for someone to fix me. I wasn't wasting my time because I have the power to take responsibility to move my life forward. I figured out that part of my purpose and part of my journey was to be able to look back on my path of life and to accept what I've learned. I realized that there were other people who were also on this same journey as me. Who although they might not be exactly where I am in my journey but people who might not know exactly what I know and they do want to know. They need to know.We all have a voice. We are our own best advocate in life. We must never stop finding out truths, walking our destiny and making a positive difference in this world. Who would have thought thata girl whose favorite subjects in school was lunch and boys would suddenly be a researcher for the truth, a writer for the unspoken, a health journalist to the unknown and published author to all.
I am unique.I own my awesomeness. I deserve to be happy and successful. You do too. The late great Bernie Mac was not only a wonderful actor, comedian but also a brilliant visionary who spoke the truth. Oprah asked him: "What did you think what was your goal?" He replies: "I want to be the best within myself. I am not in competition with anybody. If you focus on being the best within yourself all that stuff will come. Money shouldn't be you motivation. If you do well then money will come. I am not a black comedian. I am a comedian. I want to make everyone laugh." This is how I feel. I want to be the best that I can be. I am focused on being the best at empowering people to embrace who they are, to add voice to their life, to inspire them and to connect with all those who are struggling with hypothyroidism.
I love this statement by Mark Macdonald, Co-Ceo and Co-founder of Appster.
I believe that you should make a habit of believing in the things that people think are impossible. Learn to question everything. Experts will always try to convince you that what you want to do is impossible and simply won't work. However, every successful endeavor starts with one stubborn person who refuses to operate by the same rules and type of thinking that everyone else does.
Be that person.
