Picking up after Resident Evil: Retribution, Alice (Milla Jovovich) is the only survivor of what was meant to be humanity's final stand against the undead. Now, she must return to where the nightmare began - The Hive in Raccoon City, where the Umbrella Corporation is gathering its forces for a final strike against the only remaining survivors of the apocalypse.

Since the first movie, we watched as Alice, a former staff member of Umbrella, fight her way against the undead and Umbrella's hideous creations while trying to put an end to Umbrella. Alice teamed up with other survivors as well as some familiar faces from the video game series. The final chapter promises to deliver a grand finale to the movie series and wrapping everything up in a nice package.
I finally was able to see The Final Chapter last night and it did explain a lot as well as delivered. It will tell everything about who Alice is, why Alice survived this long, what Umbrella was trying to accomplish by releasing the Virus and much more! I did have my problems with the film though.
My biggest issue (as many reviews) was the editing. You can watch Alice fight a Umbrella creature but it will jump back to the creature then to Alice then to the creature then to Alice, with every punch, kick, bite or any attack. It was hard to tell sometimes what was even going on in the fight scene. Another issue was the lack of back story of previous survivors, the last we saw Alice (Resident Evil:Retribution), we saw her, Wesker, Ada, Leon and Jill standing on the White House as the army and Umbrella soldiers fought to destroy all of the zombies and creatures coming towards them. When The Final Chapter picks up (Spoiler), we just see Alice come out of a hole in the ground where the White House used to stand. There was no explanation on what happen to Ada, Leon or Jill (Not even Chris or K-Mart for that matter who we last saw in Resident Evil: Afterlife) but instead the audience is just suppose to accept that Claire came back and she flew on a chopper where Umbrella took her chopper down and the survivors of this movie rescued her. Not buying that. There was also a scene that felt like a repeat from Afterlife, where they had to hold down the fort, like we were watching the same action pack recycled scene from the movie. Another thing that was confusing was that some of the survivors in this film just magically disappeared. You can be watching one scene in the film and later on in the film, that survivor apparently didn't make it. Without any kind of notice or a scene to show they died. Finally, my biggest thing is with the storyline, don't get me wrong, I like the storyline, BUT there was something that was revealed (I'm not going to say it on here) about Isaacs, Alice and Wesker that was over used in the film series and felt like a middle finger to the audience.
Other than those things, the film (much like the other entries) keeps you entertained and the big reveal in the storyline is an interesting one. There is even a hint that this might not be the Final, FINAL Chapter in Alice's story.
Over all I'm giving the movie 4 out of 5 stars. I could definitely watch the film again and still enjoy it.
Alice is Alice, but she's not Alice-Alice. Alicia is. Huh, you say? In a nutshell: A cluster of crusty upper-crusters decided to "cleanse the world" and feed the less fortunate to one another. A near flawless plan with the exception of unintentionally creating a superhero zombie killer and their worst enemy in the process. Meanwhile, Isaacs is like a formidable flock of cockroaches and Alice is the "Raid!" Far-fetched, yet surprisingly awesome to behold. Missing a handful of beloved characters, but only one truly matters in the end. Honestly, though? If you've already watched the first five, might as well polish her off by finding out the point of it all. Plus, zombies... YAY!
