Product Description

Coming to the Nintendo Switch on May 21, 2019, Resident Evil Origins Collection includes remastered versions of the critically acclaimed Resident Evil and its popular prequel, Resident Evil 0. Both fans of and newcomers to the Resident Evil series, having sold over 88 million units to date, can experience the origins of the Resident Evil saga at home or on the go. The story in Resident Evil Origins Collection takes players back to July 1998. In Resident Evil 0, Raccoon City's Special Forces division, S.T.A.R.S., has sent its Bravo team to investigate mounting and unusual murders on the city's outskirts. Rookie S.T.A.R.S. member Rebecca Chambers teams up with death row convict and ex-Navy lieutenant Billy Coen in order to survive the nightmares that await them. Resident Evil takes place immediately afterward and players take on the roles of either Chris Redfield or Jill Valentine, as they are forced to take shelter in a mysterious mansion filled with unimaginable horrors. Both games contain limited ammo and survival items, and players will need to keep their wits about them to survive nefarious traps, puzzles, and the undead.

Just received my copy of this game and I love it. Love the Resident Evil series and definitely a plus to have it portable. I was skeptical on ordering it online; because of the many who people had problems with code that comes with this either being missing or used already, but mines came with it unused thankfully and I am glad to have both games on my switch. (Wish Capcom would have gone the extra effort on putting both games on the cartridge)

I bought this because I grew up playing the playstation version, and when the remake for gamecube came out I loved it. I'll admit, I was on the resident evil high when I first played Resident Evil 0. 0 does not hold up. But let's be honest, if you are buying this game, you are buying it for Resident Evil and not 0.

Which is why it makes NO SENSE that this game comes with a physical cartridge for 0 and not for 1. You have to download 1. Make sure you have room on your switch before you do this. This is the reason for four stars instead of five. Give me a cartridge for the game we care about!!

But the update for the switch is great. Includes some online features, like leaderboards. If you ever enjoyed playing RE1, you'll enjoy it again.
