Before we even start, Let me get some points out of the way... (People who don't care about the semantics of Resident Evil, skip over to the end where I tell you if it's worth it or not.)

*There is no way to compare RE5 (Or RE4) to the first three titles. No way. Though they are following the same story line, the mechanics changed so radically between 3 and 4 that it basically became a new game. For better or worse, judge as you may- It's still the same story line and there is still just as much to love.

*Yes, RE5 it is much like RE4. The control scheme is mechanically the same (With the addition of new actions) and you still have to stop to shoot (Which, technically, is tactically sound and every army and law enforcement agency knows this)- But that is where the similarities end. In RE4, you have this sense of isolation and total self dependence; If you get into trouble, you have to get yourself out. It was this claustrophobic atmosphere that made RE4 one of the greatest games ever. In RE5, you always have backup. Through most of the game you're in contact with some outside force aiding you in your struggle. It's no longer that creepy, just tense.

*No puzzles. At all. At least nothing that could ever be considered a puzzle in good conscience. RE4 had a few puzzles to speak of, but those really just felt like a formality. In RE5, they've nixed them all together.

*Last but not least; Sheva Alomar. A lot of players seem to hate having an AI partner following you around, keeping you alive, carrying stuff for you, helping you solve puzzles, etc. Ignore those players. They obviously have no idea how to use team commands and have no clue what they are talking about.

The game is worth every penny.

Graphics ok on either old style pent. and new I-cores(almost appear same). 1st test run thru to get the feel of the game I thought it sucked! Having a partner has adv and disadv. Partner come in handy when you need to be saved but if too far away you die before they get to you. Most times when partner on off or def they just stand in your way and you have to push them along, huge CON in fight scenes. Some interactive movies are really unnecessary. New features I give 4 stars like the upgrades but 0 stars for having to save/exit and then use feature. 0 stars for having to be logged in windows live to save progress, sometimes on continue files are corrupt and you have to start all over. Doesn't put icon on desktop, so you have to find game in start menu or ?drive program files(wherever you saved it to) CON. I put icon on task bar for easy access, upon load con is always having to choose which DX version to play should be made part of normal game play. Not so much as a puzzle as previous versions PRO, but the emblems can be hard to get by either character. Cash drops should be more like in RE4, sucks getting 100 200 or 300 from killing enemies. Wesker shouldn't have to be in a certain spot to be killed to get to final stage of game, kinda stupid and the attache case should be larger considering the changes made to it or be able to be upgraded to larger 1. I give it 2 stars only because the partner is always in the way when trying to fight enemies and blocking my shot from killing them, only plus is partner takes no damage from me. Online features with friend for partner is better but no way to actually communicate with them what you want to do. Level rating is really a gank unless you run thru and do nothing, will update as I see fit

This game is simply a blast to play with a friend...I mean it, with another human being you get along with. This game can be a really weak experience if your playing with an AI partner or someone that is not on your level.

The graphics are fantastic and it performs very well with modest system requirements, a true visual achievement.

The sound design is solid except for the lack of footsteps, seems like a silly gripe but if your enemies aren't screaming at you from behind you won't know they are there even if they are in full sprint.

The value of this game is very high, especially at it's current price, lots of progressive features and challenge to keep you busy on top of it's enjoyable game play formula.
